Who’s Andy Ruiz? That’s the fat Mexican right ?!? There’s this other punching bag Mexican “The Nightmare”
Will be a great day for NIGERIA when Joshua wins. Yes Nigeria, England hasn't got a lot to do with this I might add. Yeah ,I know the thread has really got nothing to do with this, just thought I would troll some Brits!
Parker has a short reach and back then he was still trying to fight a style where he was the aggressor and gave up his height and reach, as for Dimitrenko he couldn't get out of the way of an oncoming tortoise his movement is so poor. Joshua isn't Parker or Dimitrenko.
So goddamn weird to me that people are giving Ruiz a chance. I really don't like AJ, but come on, really? Ruiz?
I like AJ but it is not stupid to give Ruiz a chance He can easily give AJ a few frights - especially early
Joshua UD with a hairy moment or two as per usual. Ruiz just too small. 20cm reach advantage and knowing how to use it isn't negligible.
Joshua (or Hearn) will have noticed the buzz that Wilder got of a first round KO. I have a felling he'd go for the exact same result but come a round or two short. Joshua by KO 2/3
I don't know, maybe (I'm not saying this is a good fight) but I think Ruiz would beat Takam. Don't know if that makes it a harder fight for AJ tho
I think if Ruiz was uber talented then he would have beaten a green Parker (easier for those who believe he won). A more seasoned Parker was made to look a fool vs Whyte. Add all that up and I don't think Ruiz has a snowball's.
Potentially competitive until Ruiz tastes the first full blooded punch from Joshua. Then we'll see how good the chin is. It might go like the Takam fight where Ruiz goes into his shell. If he elects to trade with AJ then he will need a McCall level chin to survive as AJ throws power combinations rather than single shots. There's nothing to suggest that Ruiz has the power to seriously hurt Joshua - the punches that did were from genuinely big punchers, Wlad being an ATG puncher. Assuming Joshua is switched on and focused, I can't possibly see how Ruiz can win this fight. Most likely outcome is a stoppage before round 6.
Maybe he would beat Takam it would be a tough fight for either of them, both gave Parker tough fights, so I think they are a similar level but Takam is older now and likely fading unlike Ruiz Jr who's in his prime. But even if Ruiz Jr is as good as Takam, Takam did very little vs Joshua other than head butt him and survive. As soon as Takam tasted Joshua's power he boxed to survive, using movement and countering in spurts. If Ruiz finds himself in a similar situation with Joshua he can't do what Takam did and move and counter, that isn't his style and he doesn't have the agility or defensive skills that Takam does. He'll find himself out gunned and with only one way to fight to keep walking right at Joshua onto the power and taking shots. If Ruiz does get pushed onto the back foot then his offense will be compromised and he'll have nothing to keep Joshua off him.
