Why is it so unbelievable? BT aren't ITV box office. They're a big platform and done some great promotional work for the fight. There was huge hype in the build up across all social media platforms. Lets not forget Wilder gained loads of UK exposure off the back of AJ negotiations. Fury stepping in was a big deal.

Referencing Fury/Klitschko 500k ppv buys is stupid for several reasons. At the time Fury was an underrated huge underdog and WK was labelled a boring champion. British boxing was yet to take off. For the Wilder fight, Fury stepped in as an unbeaten former unified champion against an exciting champion known for freakish power. The comparisons are night and day and Tony knows better, he's just a bitter man.

If Klitschko was seen as a boring champion before the Fury fight I hope you didn't read any of the comments about what people thought of Fury after it happened.

It's not exactly AJ numbers with over 1m buys for each Wlad, Park and Povetkin. AJ vs Ruiz will eaisly surpass 500k.

Fury himself even trashing how badly their fight bombed ratings wise on showtime.

Personally I don't think Warren would be silent if BT box office was doing big numbers? When Koogan asks Eddie, Hearn won't be exact but he gives a ball figure.

    Warren doesn't reveal anything.

I keep hearing this. What if BT simply said "Frank, would you mind not revealing the PPV figures, thanks." Simple as that. Frank does interview; "I'm not allowed reveal PPV figures so don't ask me." End of story.

Also, 450k is solid but it's not that good. Including 325k American PPV it's pretty impressive though. Almost 800k in total including 325k 65 dollar buys or whatever it is. All in, it's very good bread.

Imagine being a boxing fan and being hurt that your favourite fighter just isn't that popular. It's all a bit bitter ex girlfriend in a way isn't it?

Fury himself in a interview with Kellerman stated that the reason he didnt want to rematch Wilder is that the viewings for first fight did so badly.

Fury's popularity is of no great importance to me Tony. I followed him when nobody knew him and got as much enjoyment from his career then as I do now. However, because I like the guy and rate him highly, I won't allow you or others to downplay his achivements and indeed his popularity because it's wrong and very peculiar.

Agreed. BT sport put a lot of resource behind the promotion and they did an excellent job in creating content around the fight too. Their marketing operation is first class.

I'd also say that ESPN's willingness to sign Fury to a lucrative contract suggests they were impressed by the performance of the fight. US numbers would've been more important to them, but a strong performance in the UK at prime US broadcast time would've helped strengthen the argument for signing Fury. So there's good reason to believe the fight did well.

I'd love to hear your definition of popularity btw Tony. Is it a case of; if you don't do AJ numbers you're unpopular? I guess that means AJ and Canelo are the only two popular fighters in the sport? Ridiculous.

It's coming out now that Wilder/Fury done almost 800k PPV buys globally. How many other British fighters have done such numbers? You could probably count them on one hand.

You love to bang on about Fury's old figures. 500k buys v Wladimir Klitschko, couldn't sell out the MEN for Klitschko rematch etc etc etc. That's four years ago and like it or not the sport and Tyson Fury have moved on. Four years ago AJ/Whyte done 400k buys. Does that mean a rematch wouldn't do much more? Of course not. Double standards from you but that's your modus operandi. Get with the times and stop making a fool of yourself with your unconditional hate.
