Name some fights in the past where the winner chose to prolong the beating instead of going for KO?

Question for some of you historians of the ESB:

What are some of the fights in which the winner had the opponent hurt and could’ve ended the fight but chose to ease up and prolong the punishment? I can think of:

    Kovalev vs Pascal
    Golovkin vs Stevens

Both guys had their man hurt but chose to give them a slow but sustained and gruel beating until either the corner or the ref had to stop it.

I find this more sadistic than a quick lights out KO.

    Any other fights like this?

Ali v Patterson. Patterson insisted on calling Ali "Clay". All though the beating Ali kept asking Patterson, " What's my name?"

I remember in a press conference when Patterson again called Ali "Clay", and Ali said "Say my name. If you don't say it you'll say it in the ring".

Ali really did show Patterson who his daddy was in the ring.

I don't think Manny qualifies. Margarito was just too tough to go down. You aren't prolonging the beatdown if you step off and start looking at the ref to stop the fight.

Lewis vs. Tyson, he gave Mike a good Mississippi ass beating.

As I remember it he visibly eased off Margarito and stopped looking for the ko but that doesn’t mean he stopped hitting him.

Lemiuex was talking like a punk before the fight, Bill beat him up for 12 rounds and broke his nose

LaStarza talked a lot of smack about winning the first fight so Marciano apparently prolonged the beating in the rematch.

I think Floyd Mayweather did this several times even though he was more than capable of getting the stoppage, like the Cotto fight, i even felt that he was about to KO Canelo.
