BREAKING: Wilder confirms Ortiz rematch, Sept. 28, Showtime PPV, Staples Center

Lol did I watch a different fight than everyone else? If that 7th round was any longer Wilder might have been KO'ed. No sh*t I'm disappointed Wilder-AJ isn't going happen. But I love watching Wilder try and KO people and Ortiz put up a damn good fight last time. Same people complaining about this is probably the same people saying DW was ducking Ortiz before he got in the ring with him.

I've wanted AJ and DW for about 4 or 5 years now. But 2020 feels like the right time. Anytime pass that will feel expired.

 

I would've preferred Joshua but it's good news. If Ortiz gets knocked out early and easily then it sux. As long as it's a good fight like the first one, then I'm happy.

 

I hope Ortiz wins. Getting fed up with all the talk about Wilder and Joshua and their non fight. Seems like they've been talking and talking about fighting for years and not doing it.

 

What's Michael Moore got to do with it? Never did like that guy though or his work.

 

If it's 12 weeks away does that rule out a UK stadium fight over the summer of 2019?

In an already ordinary Division seems the only 2 Legit Fighters just refuse to fight each other...not good for Heavyweight Boxing this sort of thing.!!!

Well the difference is with Joshua Ortiz was a last minute replacement and Joshua hasn't already fought Ortiz and beaten him. But to be fair it's not a terrible fight for Wilder. Ortiz is a good opponent but let's be honest he's done nothing since losing to Wilder and at 40 now will likely be beaten more convincingly.

But what's really damning is that they didn't even try to make the Joshua fight. All the talk post fight after Breazeale that Joshua was in the mix as a next opponent was just to try and deflect criticism during the build up and post fight scrutiny of the Breazeale fight. It's pretty clear the normal Haymon model of business is in full effect, Wilder will only be facing Haymon boxers on PBC cards, they were lucky to get the draw vs Fury and keep the WBC belt in house, they won't risk another non in house fight.

Kownacki will be next I'm sure after Ortiz to keep it all in house. All the while Wilder will scream for Joshua, keep saying Joshua is ducking him while he refuses offers and his side do literally nothing to make the fight, no counter offers, no attempt to negotiate, just continual ducking.

 

People want Wilder to fail and people continue to hate on Ortiz (especially AJ fanboys). The first fight was a classic and I feel that the 2nd fight will be just as good but hey, both of them will still get criticised for no reason afterwards.
