I actually had a lot of love for Big Mac and his win over the underrated Braithwaite is way beyond anything Yarde has shown thus far.

The thing is I have nothing against Yarde and as a Londoner want him to do well - but the way he has gone about his career brings alarm bells for me.

Anyway 5m for him - he's a winner either way!

If Yarde were as special as he needs to be in order to beat even the twice knocked out version of Kovalev, he would have shown that to us by beating a couple of top 20 ranked fighters before his title shot. They preferred not to, and that's what makes people skeptical about his real chance.

Aso, McGirt is in Russia as well:

So even if we somehow try to imagine that Kovalev is over there just to officially open his new gym (he is about to open it indeed), Buddy has no business to be in Russia other than to train Sergey.

But this all is starting to look weird indeed... They should have announced the fight a week or even two ago. And we have complete silence instead. It probably means either that the fight is not on June 29, or that there are some problems already...

Ok, so there are problems indeed. And the main one seems to be that Kovalev is not enrolled in Vada testing...

Kovalev wants no part of Yarde! This is shameful to see from the Russian

If Kovalev pulls out he could get stripped, as Yarde was mandatory!

Same as BJS getting stripped when he was pulled out of the Andrade fight

Why would Kovalev pull out of the fight? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's the WBO and they do not demand strict Vada testing. So, even if it's in the contracts (is it?) between Yarde and Kovalev that both should be enrolled in Vada, it's actually Yarde (and his team) that can reject to fight Sergey and sue him afterwards, but I don't see why the WBO should necessarily strip Kovalev...

Yarde has signed his side of the contract, if Kovalev doesnt fight, whether its because of issues with him failing drug tests or legal issues, he should lose the belt

But, again, the WBO doesn't care much about contracts between them. If Kovalev says to them (to the WBO): "I'm ready to fight him!" they will say so to Yarde. And if Yarde objects: "But he said in the contract that...", the WBO will answer: "We don't care, that's between you and him".
So, again, if Yarde doesn't want to fight without Vada testing, he will probably have to pull out of the fight...

Looks like the Russian backers probably don’t want too/can’t stump up the money.

Kovalev will probably end up vacating or being stripped at this rate.

I think the first sentence will prove to be spot on.

Can’t BT stump up the money and put it on at the o2 or something?
