Name some fights in the past where the winner chose to prolong the beating instead of going for KO?

I believe he could have KO’ed Marquez when they fought but played it ultra cautious with good reason seeing how Marquez setup & obliterated PAC with that over hand right heard around the world!

What? Now way. One thing I can’t recall Mayweather ever doing is purposely prolonging a beating. Certainly not against Canelo nor Cotto.

Floyd said he tried to stop Marquez but couldn't, and Marquez stopped Pac after the Floyd fight............

Yeah I’m aware it was after, that’s why I said with good reason because Floyd is an ultra smart boxer who knew that Even / especially then the threat of the smaller Marquez.

Ali didn't like Patterson.lol If Ali liked Patterson, why did he prolong the beating he gave him? He even gave Patterson the nickname of "the rabbit". Patterson was establishment and Ali didn't like him one bit, particularly since Patterson kept derisively calling him "Clay". I watched that fight as it occurred and Ali could be heard asking Patterson what was his name as he punished him.

Actually. I watched that fight myself as it occurred and I don't recall him asking Patterson that in the ring. I know he referred to him as the rabbit and all of that, However it wasn't with the vitriol that he approached the Terrell fight with. Terrell got in his face on TV and Ali went off. I am going to pull that Patterson fight up and rewatch it just to be sure.

Simple answer Floyd ran faster backwards than any other boxer Ive seen He ran & if cornered clung like a leech & his ref's allowed him to do it. Thats why he ran from a prime Antonio Margarito, Tony would just walk straight through him & laugh at his pitty pats

The skills disparity between them is so vast that it’s more than likely the cheating plaster of Paris Margarito will likely have ended up in hospital similar to what Pacquiao, Mosley and Cotto did to him in the rematch. All Mayweather victims by the way.

So Mayweather whoops Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosely, Marquez and Hatton (all more skilled and better pressure fighters than Margarito) yet he can't out box ol' plaster? Please.

None of those guys are pressure fighters like Tony. Hatton is the only one that’s close

Pacquiao was a much better pressure fighter, as was Mosely. Tony found that out himself

Clearly u relating to Money Mayweather and not Pretty Boy Floyd version. Mayweather was Ko'ing fighters from 130-140. KO's slowed down at 147. A lot of that came from hand problems.
