He has a tough assignment in the (15-1) Ricky Simon for his comeback fight on 13th July in Sacramento. With there still being a lot of bad blood between the 2 I wouldn't be surprised if UFC tries to set up him against Dillishaw when he comes backs from his suspension in January,it would probably be an easy win for Dillishaw tho.
Faber's in shape and I'm sure he can still beat some lower level guys on the UFC roster but Simon isn't one of them.
Faber earned my respect last weekend for surviving the never ending death-trap that is Nicky Ryan, even though he mostly just stalled. He seems to be a bit of a Bernard Hopkins figure in that he seems to love the fighting lifestyle in terms to mastering technique and staying in shape. That bodes well for him, but the bad sign is that there was a pretty clear deterioration in his last several performances. He looked sketchy during one or two of the wins before the 3rd fight with Cruz, and then Cruz beat his ass pretty handily. I heard he looked flat against Jimmie Rivera, although I didn't catch that fight.
Yeah no doubt. Love the California kid and looks like he has more left in the tank than expected. Killer instinct is still there.
Yeah Herb flat out sucks at this point. Never got the hype of him being this amazing ref but hes incompetent at this point.
Good win for DeRandamie against Aspen Ladd who I thought and still believe will be future champ despite this result. The fight to make next should be DeRandamie v Cyborg,I really wish Bisping would have asked her about fighting her in the future but i'm assuming since she will duck her again like she did previously when she dropped the UFC Featherweight title. Don't think she has much chance if she fights Nunes in the future but she has enough power to at least give her some problems.
40 and killer instinct is still intact. I think the 3 years off had helped him recooperate - his last couple of fights He looked burned out and disinterested - Mentoring and training with young talent in that off time seems to have lit a fire under him again. He mentioned how hes been developing an improving right hand based on working with a young Chinese prospect who trains at Team Alpha Male. Might not be elite anymore but the California kid has gas in the tank again and it would be unwise to underestimate him.
Herb has always $ucked imo. Bad call after bad call after bad call with that fool. Either too early or far too late. Who remembers the ridiculous late stoppage of Mike Pyle- T.J. Waldburger ? Absolute disgrace. Waldburger hasn't fought since.
