    Round 1

Grigorian is jabbing in on the southpaw champion, and takes a few side-swiping left kicks above the crotch for his troubles, as Jansuk slaps down with his right palm to deflect the Grigorian left jab. Jansuk is backed into the ropes by an aggressive left low kick by Grigorian, landing just above the patella. Jansuk standing his ground, countering with mostly wide mid-line left kicks after taking a half-step backward to set himself. Jansuk raising his right knee defensively to block most of Grigorian's probing front-kicks. The majority of punches being thrown by Grigorian are scouring flurries off the jab. Straight right front-kick extended rapidly by Jansuk pierces Grigorian in the belly, impaling him. Grigorian answers in kind moments later and backs the champion up with a left hook/right hand combination, partly blocked but gaining him terrain.

10-9 Grigorian, the clear aggressor and ring general, landed a bit less with his legs (quantity and quality) but more than made up for it with his hands

Per the onscreen graphic I see 3 of 5 judges gave that opening round to Grigorian, as I did. Interesting, though it was rather clear for him. I guess I see what we're dealing with here..

    Round 2

Grigorian is throwing big high right kicks in roundhouse fashion, driving Jansuk into the ropes. Heavy two-piece combos with his fists buy Grigorian some inside real estate, where they go into a brief Muay Thai clinch before Jansuk busts out with some hefty knees on the chest. Jansuk doing a good job evading Grigorian's clutches - and punches - and countering with nicely-timed and well-placed jumping knees in the lungs, sapping the wind from Grigorian momentarily. Grigorian marches on, indefatigable, blocking a southpaw jab and drilling in a hard right hand lead down the pipe and then lifting a vertical right knee into the gut, putting Jansuk down with the accumulation but punctuated by a grazing left hook on the chin (that in real time appeared to miss, but clear on the slow motion replay from a different angle). Grigorian pelts Jansuk about the upper skull down the stretch with a whipping left hook and chopping right as Jansuk counters with his legs on the backfoot.

    10-8 Grigorian

    20-17 Grigorian

    Round 3

Grigorian is standing at mid-range on the Glory logo, willfully trading waist-height kicks with Jansuk. This appears to favor the champion, who seems to have better leverage standing on a single leg and whipping the other around like a baseball bat. Jansuk also scoring with a pool-cue left front-kick straight into Grigorian's navel, just missing his groin by a couple of inches. Grigorian turns southpaw and tries walking Jansuk down with a series of right hooks and clobbering lefts, but Jansuk is able to screen everything out with a high guard and tiptoe his way clear, protecting himself from body shots with a raised right knee, and occasionally stomping that foot down to counter with left feet & knees into Grigorian's abdomen. Grigorian tries a left front-kick but Jansuk catches him by the heel and holds onto it for a second, making Grigorian hop in place.

    10-9 Jansuk, close

    29-27 Grigorian

Wow, 4 of 5 judges gave that one to Grigorian. I didn't think his work was nearly as effective as in the first two; Jansuk was able to slow the pace and do some economical work with his legs IMO.

    Round 4

Grigorian is taking home run swings up top with the right hand, and Jansuk is trying to kick a hole through him with the left, delivered with full extension from its grounded position behind him in his wide resting stance. Very close exchanges in the middle of the ring. Grigorian kicks Jansuk in the ankle, and makes him lose his balance and face-plant. Grigorian missing or parried with most of his headhunting fistic flurries. Jansuk is clinching a lot, and the ref (whose voice is about the lowest octave I've ever heard from a human being) is calling for a break every few seconds. Neither man is getting much clean effective work done in between the clinches, both seem gassed and pushing their strikes on pure adrenaline, no snap on them.

    10-9 Grigorian, incredibly close

    39-36 Grigorian

    Round 5

Grigorian is meeting Jansuk shot for shot, and their anterior kneecaps repeatedly collide (the challenger's starboard and the champion's port) in what appears to be very painful fashion. Jansuk is putting together combos with sweeping left kick on the liver followed by a left cross buried into Grigorian's throat. Jansuk is commanding the center of the ring, taking lead and throwing hard strikes at medium-long range. Grigorian is checking what he can on his knees or guard but cannot advance. Grigorian looking very ragged coming forward, getting countered, only mustering a few weak right kicks on Jansuk's left thigh or shin. Nice clean 1-2 by Jansuk as Grigorian just keeps walking onto shots. Jansuk throws another 1-2, making Grigorian execute a defensive spin move which just allows Jansuk to kick him in the kidney.

    10-9 Jansuk, clear

    48-46 Grigorian

I got so thrown for a second, when they said "and the new", even though I rationally knew that Jansuk was the incumbent champion (from the intros), his facial expression and Grigorian's psyched me out for a second into thinking Grigorian had been robbed. Jansuk began clapping and smiling (very gracious) while Grigorian sort of looked down at his feet with a melancholy pout. Very strange reaction to winning a championship.

Fair score. I had it a draw or for Grigorian by a point. But I think the commentary, judging etc. was all extremely unfair towards Sitthichai. Increasing my belief that they don't want Thai fighters at the top of the heap there. In a rubber match Sitthichai will do more and thoroughly outclass the Georgian so no doubt can be there. Clear he can't win a close fight in Glory.
