While looking at old San Francisco Chronicle newspapers on microfilm, I noticed that a number of Battling Nelson's bouts were filmed. Of course, Nelson was one of the best non-heavyweight gate attractions during his time.

I am new here, but what is the longest version of Fitz vs Corbett available and where can I find it?

As a sidenote, is more than last round from Fitz vs Lang available? Thanks in advance.

I think Corbett was intenionally throwing punches that weren't at full speed to make it harder to time.

I think I'm in the minority, but I think if this fight happened three more times Fitz would likely win all of them.

Corbett was blesed with supreme speed an reflexes but cursed with bad hands, he fought in the way he could, but it's not the best style for a finish fight. It can work to slow them down, but at a point you need to start piling on the hurt, especially witg someone with the mental toughness of Fitzsimmons.

Fitz's fought almost entirely on getting in the big punches, which is a poor way to fight when it can go the distance, in a finish fight, not so much.

Corbett was hitting Fitz a lot, but the glove size meant defence pretty much all had to be done on speed and reflexes, so he was always going to have to take some punishment against a speedster like Corbett.

On the other hand when he fought Gardner for 20 rounds with hand injuries, he was able to outbox him pretty clearly despite being an ill 40 year old. Though Gardner obviously wasn't as good as Fitz.

People talk about Fitz not giving him a rematch but Corbett did nothing to earn one, and Fitz had to chase his shot for years before getting it.

Corbett has good control of distance with his jab and movement. He's like a faster Braddock with less of a right hand

Fitz throws lumber in this. Wouldn't wanna get caught by that

This is the clearest Fitz footage that is available online. I've heard that more of this fight exist and that Bob had actually good start.

Fitzsimmons is shot here but he's still clearly a real fighter. There aren't too many useless or antiquated techniques and skills on display.

Nice windmill right hand by Ruby Robert included in there.

Watch Deontay Wilder fight ... and you'll know what Bob Fitzsimmons would look like if he was eight inches taller and 60 pounds heavier.

Same stance. Same style. Same skinny legs. Same power. Wilder's just a lot bigger.

Is Wilder suddenly known for having his weight on his back foot?

Their styles, other than being punchers with skinny legs, is totally different.

Indeed, probably the best I've seen.

Do you believe that they have more rounds in this quality?
