Its no really a shock, if the Fury, Joshua cant be made who do you expect him to fight? Personally I would like him to fight Whyte, and as much as I rate Whyte I still think Wilder knocks him out

Weird isn’t it,Wilder was pleading in the ring for patience about Joshua and folk think he’s the one being ducked.

Just going of the WBC rankings

Fighters who deserve a shot before Ortiz get his second in 18 months!!!!

Whyte - we all know he he's beaten
Parker - signed to fight molina, has a win against flores since his loss to whyte
Povetkin - only recent loss to AJ
Pulev - 7 fight winning streak
    Kabayel - unbeaten
    Kownacki - unbeaten

    All are in top 10

Theres alot of fighters who have been undeservedly pushed aside to suit Wilders preference (of going backwards).

    It just plain stinks....

    Thats an interesting point.
I read a while back it would be Breazeale, Ortiz and Kownacki and Breazeale has happened, now it seems it could well be Ortiz next, so I wouldnt be shocked if Kownacki happens.

And are any of those fights better than Ortiz? I think Wilder knocks them all out. I would like to see Usyk fight Parker and I don't think Povetkin and Pulev cause Wilder any problems as solid as they are. Kabayel and Kownaki are what they are and there time will come but it doesn't excite me anymore than an Ortiz fight

Personally going off recent performances, I'd pick Whyte, Povetkin and possibly Pulev over Ortiz..

But regardless, Ortiz had his chance 14 months ago.

Just going off the WBC ratings, Luis Ortiz (at #2) is rated above Parker, Povetkin, Pulev, Kabayel and Kownacki.

The only one who has a right to complain is Dillian Whyte. That's it.

And Whyte has every right to complain. But nobody else you mentioned does. They weren't pushed aside.

Parker, Povetkin and Pulev are all rated below Ortiz and all have had title shots before, as well. Hell, Parker and Povetkin got title shots AFTER Ortiz last year and lost them.

Wilder isn't going "backwards." A year ago at this time, everyone on this board was saying Ortiz got robbed. So Wilder is giving him another shot.

Wilder will knock out Ortiz early, this time. He'll give Fury a rematch in the spring of 2020, and knock him out early, as well.

And he'll be able to claim he stopped every man he faced as a pro.

When he fights Whyte, he'll knock him out, too.

Deontay Wilder ... the Hall of Fame awaits.

As I said before, Ortiz had a shot 14 months ago. Wilder should man up and challenge himself. he's the god damn champion ffs!

Ortiz has looked AWFUL against average oppenents, hence why has been chosen.
Terible fight, with an earlier KO, just to get the casuals on board.... No other reason for this fight.
How can anyone be happy with Wilder going backwards??
Wilder says there was controversy and it needs to be sorted.... Is he gonna fight Scorniers and Nichols again too????

Would you accept AJ turning Wilder down for a Povetkin rematch because it was close??????

    I do not think so...

Deontay Wilder, the world is laughing.

Ortiz lost his title shot in February. Parker lost his in March. Povetkin lost his in September. Parker was floored twice and lost his next fight (to Whyte). Povetkin hasn't fought since getting stopped in his title fight.

The only guy who challenged for a title last year and won a fight since then was freaking Luis Ortiz. Tyson Fury hasn't even won a fight yet.

And how did Luis Ortiz look awful? This is Luis Ortiz - after losing to Wilder - fighting a guy who went 12 rounds with Parker in a title fight.

Again, the only guy who has a complaint is Dillian Whyte. That's it. No one else in the WBC ratings does. Ortiz is rated higher than all the others you mentioned.

And, aside from Wilder-Fury, Wilder-Ortiz was the heavyweight fight of the year last year. We're going to see a thousand replays of Wilder-Ortiz 1 before the rematch takes place.

And everyone here is going to tune in to watch it, too.

Parker and Povetkin weren't fighting for the WBC title though were they???????

We are talking WBC rankings and a shot a Wilder (you know, the guy with the WBC belt)...........

And you forgot the Kauffman and Hammer fights LMFAO

Go on, post those fights, show us the bogeyman!!!!

    HAHAHA

Can't believe anyone is so stupid to try to defend this fight - but keep going, the world can laugh at Wilder fans at the same time they laugh at Wilder too!

Yes, please explain to this stupid person how Joseph Parker was "pushed" aside of his title shot against Deontay Wilder ... considering Whyte (the WBC #1 contender) floored Parker twice last year and beat him ... and Ortiz (WBC #2) is rated higher.

The floor is yours. Explain away.

How was Parker cheated out of his shot with Wilder next? How was he "pushed aside."

    Go right ahead.
