IMO if Joshua can't dispose of Ruiz by round 7 he's in trouble, he'll start to gas and Ruiz will KTFO Joshua with lots of combos to the head before Joshua can get his second wind... I'm going with the Mexican Butterbean on this one!!
Joshua is Nigerian... the Brits cannot take any pride from his success. Lenny Lewis was Jamaican I might add, and Ruiz is Mexican.
I would love it it Ruiz wins this. Just for the comedy value and the utter confusion it would sow in the heads of all the casual fans. I don't think it's likely. Ruiz is a decent boxer, fast hands, and he's probably tough. But he's got no reach. With short arms like that a fighter would have to be something special to beat Joshua who is rangy and can box a bit himself. Would really love it if Ruiz proves me wrong though. I'd love to see the look on Hearn's face too. It would also strike a blow at Fury and Wilder, who may or may not gloat over the fact of Joshua's defeat but you know they'd be be kicking themselves that they didn't get Joshua in the ring before it happened.
My official pick is Joshua in 3 assuming Ruiz is going straight for him. It will be like a bug crashing into a windshield at some point.
