There seems to be a subset of posters that believe.

    Razor Ruddock Beats Wlad
    Gerry Cooney Beats Wlad

Now, What about Larry Homes. Is this an utter mismatch , does Wlad have any chance. Vote away!

    As a side note.

I give Cooney the best chance of the 3.
Holmes would lose this as Wlad is better in almost every category.

My vote is Wlad by Dec.

Holmes by late stoppage .the early eighties Larry was a complete fighter who battled back from the brink and won fights. vlad didn't that's the difference

Holmes had a life and death struggle with Ken Norton , was run close by Gerry Conney, and was whipped by a lightweight twice, and then struggled against Mercer and lost to MCcall.

He has a list of no names on his resume, and his best skill was his recuperative powers. He is not going to out Jab Wlad, nor does he hit as hard, I see no way he comes close to winning against Wlad.

Yet somehow he schools Wlad, the longest reigning champ of all time. Wlad may lose to a aggressive boxer with power, but Holmes is neither of those. Larrry tries to control the range, but he cannot do that with Wlad as he has no advantages whatsoever to make that happen.

This is a styles fight for me. Holmes has little chance IMO.

I think Wlad wins but we can't ignore the facts. Wlad was KOed by Sanders and Purity. Holmes wouldn't have been stopped by them
Yes because Wlad's resume is on par with Greb and Langford isn't it? His best skill is his clinch. Holmes was a very well rounded fighter with no significant weaknesses. Wlad had a glaring weakness.

Wlad was not at his peak in either of those losses, but i will have to agree on his cinching style.
During his title reign he had no glaring weaknesses, If he did it would have been exploited by someone over 19 fights.

Holmes was a great all around boxer, with his strengths being his jab, generalship, and will to win. Wlad had a arguably better Jab, was a better general, and had an equal desire to win. I just do not see how Holmes has any advantage.

A really good blitz can take Wlad down. That is just not Larry's style.

First he will out jab Klitschko. Reach isn't everything. Holmes jab was faster and more versatile than Klitschko.
Who's so great on Klitchkos resume?
You bring up Mercer and McCall lol Holmes was so far past his prime but still gave Mercer the boxing lesson of his life and narrowly lost to McCall. What a joke bringing up a Holmes that far gone.
What version of the Cooney fight did you watch?? Holmes kicked his ass in a beautiful performance..He beat Norton who fought the fight of his life by 5 rounds with a torn left bicep.
Yes this is a fight about styles and Holmes being the superior ring general with the better jab ..higher ring IQ ..more mental strength and a better chin stops the completely one dimensional Klitschko.
    Get your facts in order

Wlad by 2 points, tho he seriously hurts Holmes in the final rounds. Better athlete, more dynamic jab. HUGE right hand. Those are the factors that win the fight.

    I’ll ride the fence again.

    Wlad by MD over 12 7-5 x’s 2 6-6 3rd judge
Holmes SD over 15 8-7 x’s2 and the 3rd found for Wlad 8-7

Fans of both cry robbery in the aftermath and it is debated in hypothetical imaginary bizzaro world for generations.

Holmes is more versatile, but his jab is not better. Holmes is not faster than Wlad, and Wald has the reach advantage. Wlad was never out planned or thought during his reign, Holmes was beaten by Spinks...twice. Spinks would be destroyed by Wlad. The difference is in imposing will, and Holmes although good, was not in Wlad's league.

Holmes having a great chin and fantastic recuperative skills just means he makes it to the bell, but he is close to being stopped by the end. The facts all are on my side in the debate.

Tough fight to call.. if this is size vs. size Holmes easily wins probably by late round knockout. But Vlad has the size to make it very hard for Larry.. I would still say Larry is quicker and picks apart Vlad and win a UD.. But Vlad would make it interesting making rocking Larry along the way.

Again past his prime when he fought Spinks and still beat him 10 5 in rematch.
I'm now convinced the only things you know about Holmes are what you read.
I've seen both in there primes can you say the same?
