Fight will never happen. Ruiz KTFO the bodybuilder again in a few months in front of his home fans and then it's OVAAAAAAH. Then he can fight David Price or David Allen for the Matchroom title.
I still think Wilder is basically just a bum with a great right hand. But, at this point, I have to agree that Wilder would likely stop AJ.
1+1 doesn't always equal 2 in boxing. At some point almost everyone thought Vlad Klitchko was finished. My guess is going forward Joshua will learn from this fight and fight differently and be better prepared. Tonight he made the classic mistake of getting careless against a knocked down opponent who wasn't that hurt. Wilder is a favorite against Joshua, but the result is not a foregone conclusion.
AJ is very susceptible to being stopped, he has to learn how to avoid big shots. AJ is a little better at being more active and winning rounds than Wilder, though. The result would almost certainly be either Wilder by KO or Joshua by decision. (but I have no confidence in AJ to last the distance vs Wilder unless he makes major changes)
People on here have been saying this for ages. We all know who we are. We’ve been shouting this from the rooftops. Now do you see why Joshua turned down the $50mil? Now do you see why Drunken Bazza Hearn repeatedly said that he sees Wilder-AJ as a 2020 fight? They were waiting until Wilder got old.
Joshua has been packing Glass for some time now.....Wilder is not a great match for someone with that problem.!!!
The problem is Wilder's power is so other-worldly that I could see him hurt AJ with shots that don't even land cleanly. First clean shot he nails him with would knock him out. Anthony fights in too upright of a position, his lack of head movement would be his demise.
