That "moronic bodybuilder aesthetic" got him past Klitschko, Povetkin and Parker. Joshua is skilled, which you should know if you watched the fight - he knocked Ruiz down with a great combination. Joshua's problem was that he went in for the finish on Ruiz just as he always does, failing to give Ruiz -- and his fast hands -- the respect they deserved. Fast hands + knocked down = a dangerous wounded animal.

I am not trying to take away from Ruiz, his performance was fantastic. We all knew his chin is solid and frankly he roughed up Joshua, outlanding him 2 or 3 to one.

    I agree.

Josh Kelly seemed to struggle, Taylor looked tired and struggled. AJ looked shattered after 3 rounds, something in the air.

AJ was interviewed and never made any complaints about the stoppage.

    He gave Ruiz his dues.

1st Tier I'd class as prime Klitschko brothers, Lewis etc . True greats

Fighters like Joshua, Bowe, Bruno are Ruiz, I'd class as 2nd tier.

Obviously that's just my opinion in how I separate good from the very best.

This was a weird AJ we saw in the ring tonight. Yes he got outclassed but the guy just didn't seem he was all there tonight.

Maybe it's complacency, thinking too far ahead. Underestimating Ruiz.

AJ is not what I would called skilled, lmao. And he could have respected Ruiz all he wanted, except he realized he was getting his ass beat by Pillsbury and the fact that, wtf this guy can box my head off!

    :deal:

So you also have Wilder and Fury on that second tier (or lower), I take it?

If ANDY RUIZ can drop JOSHUA 4 times and stop him, and have JOSHUA simply not wanting it anymore, spitting out his gum-shield to buy extra time or quit, and quitting with his hands on the ropes...

Usyk would absolutely do the same if not worse.

And I am not really all that big on Usyk as you all already know. I have constantly been called all sorts (even a racist) for not rating Usyk all that highly.

Hope the British media does the same.

I don't want to hear any doubts after Ruiz dominated AJ that hard and got four KDs.

He is skilled and has power. But robotic as hell, and not fast. That and a glass chin = he's done.

Let's be real: if they do the rematch at Cardiff later this year and AJ manages to drop Andy twice, the referee will be straight in there, waving it off after issuing the standing eight.

We will have all week to reflect on that performance, I am in two minds right now, part of me feels he lost respect for Ruiz.. and the other half feels AJ got exposed till he fought a hard puncher that throws fast and frequently.
