Now that the hype job was been exposed, we can now look forward to the real undisputed heavyweight fight with the rematch of Fury v Wilder. No need to wait as it's already been confirmed last night.

He was, hyped up by the media platform along with clever MisMatch making. Now anyone who is in the ring with him will know they can go for it and get to him. Very similar to big Pricey in that sense going into the Thompson fight.

I agree with that. I always spotted his shortcomings and just as I started to believe myself, the scenario I predicted long ago occured. Typical.

Anyway it's good for the division, brings people back down to earth. Fury knows he's the best but he also knows he's not invincible. Wilder knows Fury beat him and now AJ has been humbled.

Best of all Hearn has been taken down a couple of pegs. I don't mind Hearn all that much but his take on the heavyweight scene irritates me. This will do him and his old man some good. They'll be desperate to beat one of the unbeaten guys and will do what it takes to make those fights. (50/50)

People are so fickle. It’s heavyweight boxing. It happens.

Matchroom! You're boys took one hell of a beating! Taylor got a corrupt decision and Robinson should of got the nod also. A great night to see the hype train taken down a peg or three!

Certainly showed he has issues with gas tank and chin.

But then he's shown that before.

I think the turning point was that big right that Ruiz ate right after Ruiz had got up from the first knock down.

Joshua went for the kill after he put Ruiz down and hit him with a straight right that should have put him down again but he got wild got caught himself and never recovered at all.

We saw how long it took AJ to recover against going down against Klitschko and everyone said then klit could have finished the fight but he let AJ of the hook and allowed him to recover for a few rounds.

We now know what we have suspected all along, his big bodybuilder physique is prone to gassing.

I don't think his chin is the the major problem, sure he can get hurt but so can every heavyweight most concerning is the stamina issue.

That and the fact that he really doesn't get on well against shorter fighters with that workrate, takam, povetkin, Ruiz have all proved difficult. To be fair Parker was never really beaten and Klitschko had his moment. So maybe AJ has been riding this luck for a while and just did get exposed badly on the staimina front.

The good thing for the division is that this shows the top 10 can really beat each other and they all have flaws that have been exposed now.

Let's face it it's HW boxing, anything can happen and styles truly do make fights.

As a brit and AJ fan it's disappointing, not only the loss but more so what it means for the potential wilder fight but for the division and boxing it's great...what an era we have with the current top guys all being capable of beating each other.

I don't understand the hate for matchroom and the "hype train" though....that's a bit unfair, AJ has proven...up until now...that he was number one in the division and he is the most humble of guys so it's not like he rubbed it in everyone's face. I don't understand how people can dislike AJ to the extent to feel they want to laugh or ridicule his loss. The man got in the ring and went out on his shield unlike the duckers of the division protecting their 0s at all costs.

I think it backfired on hearn badly though, he said he picked Ruiz because he was game and was coming to win and it would made a good fight...he wasn't wrong but I bet he wished he had gone with someone less dangerous now.

Saw a bloke on twitter say AJ was asking McCracken "Why do I feel like this?" in between rounds. Thought myself he looked horrified throughout. The gas tank well and truly emptied.

I'm not convinced he'll come back from it. Has to beat Ruiz in rematch and Ruiz looks to have the perfect style to take him out. That was no fluke. If he gets AJ going again how will AJ react? It has the Price/Thompson feel to it.

Ironic that you talk of guys protecting their zeroes (yet Wilder and Fury put theirs on the line against each other and seem to be doing so again) ... then say you with Joshua has picked an easier opponent — essentially meaning he should have cherry picked to protect his zero. Lol.

No I'm saying he did the right thing fighting someone dangerous rather than taking an easier route which he could have done. Wilder, Whyte and fury didn't want it which is why he went with miller. Then they could have chosen anyone but went with someone who they knew presented a challenge.

Anyway not arguing about it, I'm always right so no point getting into a debate lol

Got caught on the ear as he was turning into the shot and never recovered his balance. Ear drum possibly ruptured? **** happens. Amped for the rematch. As for the exposed comments, you can **** that sky high!

It will be interesting to see how the future pans out for Joshua and whether he can make it make it back to be champion ? I am sure that Eddie Hearn was astute enough to have a rematch contract ??? But Ruiz is a Haymon fighter and the option of getting Wilder in with Ruiz ASAP would effectively give him total control of the heavyweight scene. It’s not a case of being wise after the event but the signs that AJ doesn’t have the best chin in the world and his physique whilst impressive doesn’t lend itself to the kind of stamina required for 12 rounds fought at pace were there to be seen. Can he beat Ruiz should he get the rematch ?
