He’s actually been trying to box more and more like wlad ever since he fought him, but look even in the wlad fight a 41 year old wlad was noticeable lighter on his feet than aj, aj is heavy on his feet no head movement when he try’s to box he looks very unimpressive.

Usually he’s very good at mid and close range he wasn’t tonight he let Ruiz back him and get off his combinations, aj needs to work himself into mid range and close range by backing his opponent up but Ruiz was backing him up.

Lot of wholes in his game I’ve always said if he stuck to boxes at distance against wilder he would get ko’d but now he’s shown that if you can get in the pocket and let off combinations it unsettle’s him as well.

POV fight he also showed that he has trouble picking up a fighters timing.

It’s one of the safest and easiest punches for a taller guy against a smaller/better boxer. Unless your opponent has excellent lateral movement it’s always there.

It's being said AJ was concussed after the first KD. Asking his corner 'why do I feel like this' and 'what round is it', and 'what punch did i get hit with'.

Ofc he was concussed, this is boxing. Was AJ that protected that he didn't know what it felt like ever before????

You bend down to throw that punch and Joshua is no where near quick enough to avoid the counter.

I doubt he realizes where ones head is when reaching that far down lmao.

When you have the longer reach there isn’t a counter to worry about for that punch. You can also lean to throw it and move your head at the same time.

Right. Joshua's height versus Ruiz's height makes that punch to the body a nightmare. He only has the option of directing that punch from above. He can't feign and throw it from another angle. Ruiz can see it coming all day long.

Body punching is one of the few disadvantages taller fighters have unless they're prepared to close distance which Joshua plainly wasn't. In a rematch he needs to just keep the jab to the head going for the full 12 rounds and capitalize as and when he can.

To be honest, given Ruiz's weight gain since he signed the Joshua contract, I fully expect him to come into a rematch over 300lbs. He seems like a nice guy, but discipline is obviously not his forte.

maybe because not every shot is bound to cause the same effect? there's so many variables involved. adonis has been knocked out and down before but it took his last fight for the damage to become serious. AJ was knocked down against a harder puncher in Wlad and didn't appear as disoriented or off in his mannerisms.

    besides,
Seeing as how he has the most impressive resume in regards to wins of active HW's u calling him protected is laughable.

Dude this has been covered many times. It's one of the reasons that made Tyson so deadly. You cannot simply go to the body on someone like Tyson and by extension Ruiz. A tall fighter already has to reach down to jab the shorter man. Now you want him to bend down to the body, are you high?

Joshua will obviously want an immediate rematch. Before that happens though I’m sure Hearn and DAZN will sneakily line up some endorsements for Ruiz with Taco Bell and Burger King.

**** Joshua. I’m with Ruiz on cloud 9 after this win!

Tyson moves his feet to change angles and had a tight guard. Going down the middle of Tyson would be stupid for anyone. Holyfield threw body punches to the side to keep him in front of him.
Ruiz has a completely different style. You clearly don’t understand boxing at all.

On reflection, before the first bell it was said it was a mismatch, in the end it certainly turned out that way. A total blowout win from the new Mexican heavyweight world champion.

Ruiz has always been heavy. I think for a short time he was thinner, er relatively thin for him. He looked almost normal lol. Iirc there's only been one fight where Ruiz was ever outweighed by his opponent, lmao.
