This is where we will see what Joshua is made of. A loss is never really a loss if you learn from it and move on. Hopefully this will help Joshua sharpen his focus or improve his stamina which will then help him if he gets past Ruiz and then move onto Fury and Wilder. Or he’ll not learn from it, blame everyone and never be the same or quit. I reckon the former. I reckon he’ll blast through Ruiz with long range boxing and not get drawn into a fire fight next time.

Aye, lose the re-match and the comeback becomes an horrific road, time wise. He has made his millions. It is now all about honour. However, I think that the journey towards Fury and Wilder continues. He has lost one fight. He hasn't got miles and beatings on the clock. Subtle changes are required. Nothing more. He is still Top 3 (4). Joshua still has an important role to play within the landscape. He will not have any shortage of dance partners, simply for the £££/$$$.
Yep I'd really like to see it. Arguably this fight was on neutral turf. Ruiz is Mexican and has only fought in New York once. It was Jarrell Miller's 'home' ground. I know it's probably in the contract that the rematch would be in the UK, but given the way that Ruiz conducted himself, performed so well and that being the first Mexican HW champion is such a huge thing of national pride - it would be a great gesture to organise it in Mexico. Joshua has been the 'home' fighter (or atleast had the majority of partisan support) at every single fight. A true test would be to see how he gets on in a hostile environment. Besides; the recent DAZN show in Mexico was really good. Fantasy land now, but imagine a card that features a joint main event featuring Canelo/Smith or similar..
I can't believe how few people actually see what they're watching. Rematch ain't happening, Joshua won't fight for 18 months, at least. He almost certainly has a brain injury that's going to keep him out for the foreseeable.
Anthony Joshua as heavyweight champion of the world represents bookies, clothing lines and everything in between. He needs this rematch, and it needs to be his next fight. This is his corporate image. And besides, who would he fight in the interim? He can't fight anyone lesser than Ruiz Jr so what's the point? I think he boxes on the back foot in the rematch, covers up and smothers on the inside and aims for a 12 round decision. He's more than capable of it. How Ruiz Jr adapts is the question.
I think there may be more money in it for Ruiz if it's in the UK in fairness. Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying he should just be thinking of a cash in. He's a worthy champion. But this is now totally life changing for him.
