Joshua's chin?

Definitley a shakey chin, yes it's heavyweight boxing but quite a few times he's been shook and seems to freeze when he's hit with a good shot.

 

Joshua couldn‘t ever really take a punch, it was the reason why he fought so timid in the fights after Klitschko floored him.

He looks like his whole bodily functions are falling completely apart when getting hit with anything, he let‘s his guard down, he‘s walking around, not knowing what to do.

Joshua got staggered in many fights before and not only against hard punchers.

My brother is not really interested in boxing and the first thing he noticed when he watched Joshua is his bad reaction to getting hit, he said Joshua looks fragile and every punch could end it anytime, he seems to know a lot more than many boxing fans posting on this forum lol.

 

Ruiz got him more than once... That's the big difference.

 

Price stays asleep.

Joshua has gotten up every time he has been down.

Glass chins break on impact.

 

While I understand what you’re saying, it’s a little unfair to set the bar with guys that are known as the best chins in heavyweight history.

 

I think think Joshua suffered a concussion/perforated eardrum/slight brain damage during the 3rd round that rendered him unable to recover. That's why he looked so lethargic, sitting duck from rd 4 untill the end.

 

Those guys had iron chins, it's not so black and white, that iron chin good, not iron chin, glass chinned fraud. The way you describe it. it's not possible to have a decent or average chin and take power shots of solid punchers but not from huge punchers.

Joshua took Wlad's right hand flush, he took Whyte's left hook which has cracked good chins like Chisora and Parker, he can take a decent shot as proven by those examples.

What he can't do is fight like an idiot trade on the inside vs shorter guys with power and fast hands like Ruiz, had he fought like that vs Povetkin he would of been KO'ed too.

 

Didn't say everyone can be stopped, yes you'll get guys with iron chins, not saying Joshua has an iron chin, but it's not complete glass either otherwise Wlad would of flattened him in the 6th and Whyte would of KO'ed in the 2nd.

Lol at calling me a casual fan when you're the one with the casual fan black and white attitude, of there only being iron chins or glass chins, take that BS casual fan crap out of here.

Just because Joshua doesn't have a chin as good as McCall or Tua doesn't mean it's glass, by that rationale every fighter other than those you listed has a glass chin.

 

I think it's clear now that AJ hasn't the best chin, stamina or durability in a hard bout. These "body beautiful" types like AJ, Wlad, Frank Bruno often seem to lack something. The overly heavy but naturally tough dude Ruiz may not look pretty, but he has a neck like a shock absorber and looks to have good stamina enough. He gave Parker a really close fight too.

It wasn't AJ's night last night, he had a bad night. First fight in the US. It's too early to write him off and maybe he wasn't mentally right or whatever, but Andy Ruiz was. The Dimitrenko camp/win primed him for this in retrospect. He grabbed his chance to become HW Champ of the world.

 

It could have been seen like a Lennox Lewis v Mccall type loss if Joshua didnt make it up from that first knock down. the fact he got up and fought on probably hurt his reputation more as he looked terrible in the process.

 

His punch resistance wasn't there, but punch placement also had something to do with it. Look where the punches landed. Ear, ear region, top side of the head. The initial punch to the ear may have cracked the armor, so to speak. I agree, he's taken shots from bigger puncher's much better, but he hadn't gotten punched on the ear that I recall. Your equilibrium center is in the ear.

 

Joshua's body was willing but his mind betrayed him in the end. He was clear eyed when the ref administered his count.

 

Chin isn't the most important thing, toughness is however. You have to have a certain level of toughness to become a champion, and stay a champion. AJ isn't very tough. His recuperative powers are too slow though for his level of defense. Breazeale, people probably roasted his chin, but he took Wilder's maximum power punch and was still able to fire a couple of hail mary throws back. Just one of those punches would spark AJ out. Ruiz got AJ because Ruiz is pretty sharp with this power, which isn't devastating so not looking good for AJ. You can't fight Ruiz in his range like that. Exposed.

 

Actually that was his problem, after eating heavy shots he still kept going in trying to tough it out with Ruiz and paid the price each time.

What he really should have done was BE gun shy, fight on the outside.... defensively using his reach and range like he did against Parker. Don't mess around like he did on the inside getting into exchanges.

 

After tonight, i can say AJ is a good actor.But still very genuine and before getting in his role, it was on his face that in that night he should do something that he doesn't wanted to do(losing).Or maybe some stress because it's easier for him to be him, to box like he can, but it's very responsible to play it, to be looking real for all the people over the world.
