I have said from day one Joshua lacks the chin and stamina to be a great champion. Ruiz can take a punch and Joshua can't end of the story. Ruiz will beat him again when they fight again. Ruiz punching power is underrated. I think Ruiz beats Wilder as well. Wilder lacks a good chin and recovery skills. Right now Fury is the only one that can beat Ruiz on points. Props to Joshua for taking this risky fight. Wilder and Joshua were idiots for not fighting each other. They both lost a lost of money tonite. Wilder probably is better than Joshua for sure now. I'm a fan of Ruiz now. He has a chin and fast hands and power. Joshua was exposed tonight for what he is. Joshua is Frank Bruno Jr. Joshua would be a fool to rematch Ruiz right away. The fight was not even close. Congratulations to Ruiz for exposing Joshua for what i always said he was. Don't worry Wilder is next. Wilder can't take a punch neither.
All this talk about Wilder having a weak chin is AJ fans being depressed. Sleep over it. The pain will go away once you acknowledge reality and wake up and smell the coffee
Joshua didn't react well to punches he couldn't see. The hooks and wild swinging rights had Joshua panicking where his last defense was to fall down.
He has a below average chin, which can be lethal in the HW division. Especially if you are stiff and lack head movement. It's not terrible, just not very good and not what a person would expect from a dude that size.
The shot that caught him and basically finished him was a temple shot, not his chin at all. I’d say he light in the britches
Came to say exactly this. His natural cardiovascular system is not designed to support the level of unnatural mass he's added through bulking up. Guy's who have a lot of muscle mass naturally, naturally also have a cardiovascular system ie larger lung capacity etc to support it. Nature doesn't give you 250lbs of muscle mass and a 150lb persons lung capacity. He needs to fight at his natural weight around 230. EDIT I just watched his debut fight where he weighed in at 230, WOAH! He looks 100 times sharper and faster than he does now, even has a higher work rate and didn't appear to get tired what so ever. He really has turned into a big stiff robot since then, I bet that version of him would have done better than the current version. This content is protected
So far Joshua hasn't been laid out cold, but he doesn't have the greatest of recoveries. He loses total balance. Personally I think a lot of it comes down to his size. He's a huge guy with way too much muscle mass. That muscle mass takes a lot of energy. What I was say though is that for a guy who started boxing at like 18 years old, he's very technically sound in a very quick amount of time. A natural gifted boxer that doesn't have the best of stamina and durability. I actually imagine Joshua to beat some of the best heavyweights and then lose time and time again to some journeyman.
I still say joshuas staminas pretty good for his size. Hes shown he can do the twelve without too many problems. Its always when hes been hurt that his stamina completely goes. His natural staminas actually pretty good tho. Not really an important point tho considering his stamina drains quickly when hurt. Its actually probably a bigger problem tho. Not a simple case of just losing weight or working harder in the gym. Still say anyone that can punch is a danger to him...pretty sure wilder falls into the puncher category.
He has a stamina issue. I think he holds a good shot, but he puts together heavy combinations and if they don't knock you out he is then really vulnerable. The Klitschko knock down was exhaustion mainly. Took him five rounds to recover from a flurry he threw at the start of round five. That's why he's been pacing himself since and not just head hunting constantly.
