I dunno, things have changed since this thread started, thought the same until Fury signed his big sea and Wilder fighting Breazele. With those two out of the picture and Miller testing positive it's left Joshua looking around for opponents and it's not going great so imo Whyte was right to turn it down as he's now in the best position of them all imo.
Oscar Rvas might turn out to be Whyte's biggest mistake. The kid looks the part and he can punch a bit.
So you don't think he will get the same chance again? That 4 million will always be available, most likely even more. It will happen.
Rivas is a potential banana skin, I can see whyte getting dropped a couple of times but Rivas also. Should be a few moments like we had with Dubois vs lartey where they were both swinging
The problem is Rivas has the ability to pull off a shock. Its almost as if he has been planted there to get rid of Whyte who has been becoming a problem with his mouth. He is becoming a bit vocal. The powers that be tend to put kids like that in their place. Hindsight is a good thing but ultimately it seems like a bad decision turning down AJ. But then again he could be playing a blinder. But my gut says he has become a part of the 'who needs him' club. Why on earth would Fury or Wilder fight him when they can earn a truckload fighting opponents with lesser risk. Its just Business.
it might be and probably will be, who knows whats round the corner. dillian might get badly injured and lose out. i believe its all about the here and now. road blocks to multi millions seems to be the done thing now. or is everyone cycling off the peds?
could have been Dillian instead of ruiz last night . But he didnt have the balls to take the fight with a rematch clause.
He can punch, but I don't see him do it very often. Whereas Whye as of late, throws bombs in every exchange, and he will hurt his opponent consistently in every round. Oscar fought tentatively against Jennings, and only went for the kill very late, when he corner pleaded with him to push harder. Not the only fighter that will be kicking himself, but hey at least this shuts up every poster who said Dillian would lose same way, but even worse. Besides, you say he didn't have the balls but he has a mandatory coming up, so he is in a comfortable position for the champ. The landscape is interesting now, and Dillian will get closer to a title shot.
Wilder, Whyte and Miller all hurt themselves by not taking the Joshua fight. They could have had a W and been significantly better off, I think Whyte vs Joshua 2 happens but I doubt it will see the same $$ for either fighter.
Whyte - Joshua won’t happen if it’s not for a belt. Whyte must be gutted seeing that, he should have taken the chance to fight.
- rejects a title shot against Joshua - Joshua then gets beaten by Ruiz Jr. - finally gets the mandatory status after being #1 ranked for 600 days - 5 days later loses the mandatory status due to PEDs
