Everyone loses sometime. Lennox got sparked by one punch from a career sparring partner. Wlad gassed out before going on a historic run of defenses.
Does AJ have the talent and confidence to return from last night where he did not look good at all.

Kovalev got sparked way worse by Alvarez. Alvarez didn't need to take advantage of a wild Kovalev trying to finish. He just straight up knocked him the hell out by setting up his punches. Kov came back and schooled Alvarez.

Now you have people thinking Ruiz had AJ's number and AJ has no chance at all. People are ****ing sad on this forum.

This is not a big shock AJ vulnerabilities have been in show for a long time his chin is very suspect.

He has been hurt and nearly stopped by a old wlad was rocked by whyte and has been knocked out in sparring he goes down a lot

what AJ did wrong was he was far to eager to go for the kill after he dropped ruiz he should of been patient got behind his jab and broke him down .

Ruiz was the better fighter all round was paitent when he hurt Joshua because he knew Joshua still had the power to hurt him ruiz also knew Joshua was falling apart so why go for broke? he took his time picked his shots and AJ crumbled

I don't like Wilder but he knocks out AJ just on AJs suspect chin alone shame wilders cherry picking mindset prevented him getting to him before ruiz

Regarding the rematch with ruiz I still see it as a even fight Joshua knows he can drop and hurt ruiz he just needs to be patient and he has a CHANCE but I still feel ruiz will take it.

Credit to AJ for fighting a lot of quality opponents in his career so far, i’m Not sure if he rebounds from this. Something about his body language reminded me an awful lot of Frank Bruno last night.

AJ will not come back and dominate. He doesn't take a punch all that well, and tires easily, a deadly duo.

Also all his opponents will not look at him the same way, as everyone knows his weaknesses.

Not sure. I think he'll comfortably defeat Ruiz in the rematch - if there is one.

We’ll see on the surface I agree. It doesn’t look good. But we felt the same way when Lewis got starched by MCCall and Wlad being waved off by Brewster. You never know. It’s gut check time for Joshua

Apart from fighting the wrong fight and not carrying out what mcracken instructed He looked like he was trying to walk through mud for most of the fight? So heavy slow and sluggish looking!

I don’t if he overtrained or took a hiding in sparring or the fact that he was fighting when he normally would be in bed but something wasn’t right at all.

I thought after he got knocked down ok he’d take a round off and get some oxygen back in and come alive again like he did against klitscko but it didn’t really happen.

He can definitely come back and beat Ruiz no question on the end of the jab, a 20cm reach advantage seem ridiculous to me but he just fought the wrong fight, perhaps he was to send out a message and beat Ruiz in a slugfest but it went wrong.

I think he needs to lose some weight and work on his stamina and do some running, froch always said the runs McCracken made him do were what got him through the tough times in a fight and I agree

To come back? Yes, it's possible. To dominate? No...

Considering the Gypsy King is around, this would be impossible.

He will comeback and potentially beat Ruiz although I’d have Ruiz favourite, but he won’t recover easily mentally from that loss, if he got by Ruiz I’m not sure how he would confidently approach a fight with Wilder now knowing so clearly his own punch resistance issues, and how he would confidently approach a fight with Fury a man who is far sharper a much better mover with a better boxing IQ and gas tank, for him to come back and dominate and be the best of his era seems a million miles off atm.

I cant see it after watching this fight. Its been compared to Tyson v Douglas in terms of it being a massive upset but it reminds me of that fight in the way that even though both Tyson and Joshua were not mentally at their best, there were still technical issues they would have found hard to overcome at any point.

Ruiz I think would always give AJ problems with his combination punching, speed and pressure. based on the amount of success he was having in there I find it hard to believe AJ will come back and wipe him out, or even control the fight at distance. I always though Wilder had a decent chance as well, if he land on that chin, its over, and its likely Fury would out box AJ. so to come back and dominate, its a big ask. I feel bad for the man, he has been built up but the reality of boxing is harsh. I cant see a Lennox Lewis situation here, it would be amazing to see though if he could do it, but this is reality, the gravy train is over.

This was worse than Lennox/ Rahman. AJ was completely outclassed and outgunned, he didn't understimate Ruiz before hand... he just got demolished.

This, its not even comparable other than it being an upset, Lennox was still the favourite to win the rematch and everybody thought it was a lucky punch, this was totally different. AJ Got embarrassed making his US debut at MSG, I can see it effecting him mentally in a major way once it sinks in.
