Of course he can, it's a fairly weak era. Do I think he will? Personally no. His confidence will be damaged after last night. His confidence in his power, his confidence in his chin and his confidence in his corner. He's been so used to winning that it'll be interesting to see how he comes back. I think he'd be very wary of Wilder given his power and Joshua's chin. I don't think he'd enjoy Tyson Fury's mind games in the buildup and he probably knows that Tyson can comfortably outbox him and make him look silly. Then there's the others.. Usyk is fantastic and perhaps Ruiz' high-workrate approach is the blueprint for smaller fighters to cause Joshua problems. Dillian Whyte too - someone who shouldn't be written off and carries power. Even someone like Joe Joyce might be tricky for Joshua. Will be interesting to see what happens..
Joshua's aura of invincibility has been irreparably shattered by Big Andy. Opponents will go into fights with him confident that if they can hang in and consistently go to the body and apply constant pressure, Joshua will wilt.
Ofcourse he can, He got embarassed in his debut in Usa, wilder talking trash, losing all his belts, and ppl already turning they're back to him. And still he stays calm and humble. He just needs to find his fighting spirit back, his chin is no good, so he should work on his head movement. AJ is a smart guy, he will adapt.
To be honest, Ruiz took the knock down better than AJ. When a fighter gets knocked down i look at his body language the most, Ruiz's body language after the knockdown was far greater than AJ's after his knockdowns.
Lennox Lewis had a much better chin than AJ. If you ignore the two KO's in his career, in all his other fights he has been hit in the face, in the side and back of the head in all his fights but he was barely even flinched. His chin in hindsight was perhaps not all time great but not as bad as perceived either.
Out of all the current crop of HW's, it is AJ who panics badly when hit in the face. Wilder and Fury remain calm and composed.
Definitely, this changed everything permanently. AJ was destroyed, in emphatic fashion. I mean it's one thing to lose right? Maybe by a lucky punch, you made a simple mistake etc... But AJ lost in the WORST possible fashion, that no oone in the entire universe could have predicted it being that bad, not even the die hard haters of AJ who want to see him fall.
Lennox walked onto a couple of big punches. No way did I think Ruiz had the power to trouble anyone like that.
seems like Lewis's chin is getting rated higher as time goes on, even Mercer has come out saying Lennox's chin was decent. I mean in terms of AJ coming back from loss like Lewis did, no chance, he just too vulnerable it seems. I always felt his build would be his undoing at some point, against the faster guys, he just too bulky.
This perhaps the dumbest post on the fight that ive seen. You are trying to make it sound like Ruiz got completely lucky and got out with a gift win. Im going to be nice and not completely rip into you but it is you that is sad. Ruiz started the fight tentative but once he got caught he let his hands fly and once that happened he started beating AJ to the punch and hurting him. AJ had plenty of chances to recover and didnt and the reason was because of Ruiz. Stop with the excuses AJ got beat down by Ruiz and it was completely legit. Its not like he landed one punch and knocked him out. He made AJ quit!!! Aj was done plain and simple. Get over it. You'll get to see it again in the rematch and I cant wait to see your bs excuse then.
How is it we can see this and they cant? Ruiz had it spot on,Joshua gasses and takes a few rounds off but Ruiz jumped on him.
