To those who watched Parker-Ruiz, who really won the fight?

I was wondering. I never caught the fight. But I know the fight took place in Parker's hometown and there was controversy. What was your scoring of the fight and how close was it?

I think I had Parker up a round. But a lot of the rounds were very close and hard to score. Draw would have been fair, Ruiz winning wouldn't have been a robbery.

Also, hopefully this result makes those of us who thought Parker drew against AJ look a little better @CST80

I had Parker winning by 1 point.
Parker and Ruiz are both really good fighters.
Contrary to what many have said, Parker gave Joshua a pretty good fight and was handicapped badly by a referee who didn't allow him to work Joshua over on the inside.

I had Ruiz winning 116-112, he should still have his 0.

    There was no controversy.

It was a close fight. Andy got himself ahead early & Parker did well to reel him in & overtake him.

7/5 Parker here. I thought he edged it.

I had AJ wide over Parker.

I had Parker but a lot of the rounds were very close. Parker nicked it on bodywork and a slightly better output in the later rounds, but Ruiz looked solid every time they exchanged.

Styles make fights. AJ doesn't do to well against real fast shorter fighters but he does very well against fighters his height. This is why the Ruiz bout cannot be used as a measuring stick on how he would do against Fury and Wilder

If you counted every punch landed.....Ruiz won ,its was by good margin to, if you ACTUALLY count every punch.

The fight LOOKED close but Ruiz should have won by at least 2 rounds and as much as 4 rounds.

Best bet if you watch this fight turn off the volume bc it takes place in NZ .

Yep the ref saved AJ a lot especially after that huge body shot he received.. AJ was gassed against Parker and his corner loosened his tape to allow multiple breaks.. I think he expected that same courtesy yesterday by spitting out his mouthpiece but didn’t get it..

I had Parker winning without actually scoring it and then a completely different fight actually scoring it,just shows how deceptive a fight can be and commentary be influenced most of the time. I also payed attention to the little Ruiz counters and ring generalship. Ruiz no doubt won that fight.

I scored it a draw. They both lacked urgency. I was alarmed by the lack of urgency that Parker, as the favourite, showed.

I now understand that he was being pecked back by genuinely dangerous flurries. Ruiz fought in spells and the spells kept Parker very honest. If I'm honest I didn't recognise to what degree at the time. That fight is getting a re-watch this week.

I had it 7-5 Parker, but you could have it 7-5 in the other direction and that would be fine.
