Dunno , can't really say right now. Bute opted out of the rematch in Canada after getting "Cobra'd" and was never really the same again. I can't see Joshua swerving the rematch so its possible he is unified champ again by the end of the year. Time will tell.
Bute was the odds on favorite against Froch. Not to AJ level though, but like -220 or so, so still the favorite. Froch was coming in off a loss to Ward.. and not long before that he lost to Kessler and was outboxed pretty thoroughly by Dirrell and Taylor. Froch honestly seemed like the guy Bute would feed on coming into that fight..
It looked like Joshua gave up partly because he was frustrated with how Ruiz could eat his shots and return fire. During that last sequence, Joshua got in a few good punches and Andy just ate them and charged right back. Joshua didn't want to deal with that anymore.
I chose Bute because he looked completely shell shocked. To me, Joshua seemed more flat than anything. Just wasn't ready for a high contact fight, and boy did he get one.
I picked Froch to KO Bute too..... for what its worth. AJ by a landslide. Andy ripped his heart out, sliced it up, put some Goya's Adobo all purpose seasoning on it, an had a nice plate of Tacos De Corazon right in front off AJ, and there was absolutely nothing Femi could do about it. Bute had already been unofficially stopped by a much lesser pressure fighter than Froch in Andrade, it wasn’t really a meltdown imo he just got his ass handed to him by the best guy he’d shared a ring with.
