To be honest I dont think he underestimated him, maybe slightly, Joshua is a proffessional and seems like a very level headed dude, I think it had more to do with Ruiz as a fighter, he also would of been very hard to prepare for with 4-5 weeks notice, how many sparring partners could emulate his style?

I saw this coming and won a **** load of money, how some people rode Ruiz completely off is beyond me, ruiz had everything going for him in preparation for this fight. Andy Was is his best condition due to Back to back camps against a 6.6 opponent, was undefeated (yes he did beat Parker) , lots more experience in the pros and amatures, faster than Joshua, Better chin than josh, solid power, good skills, Mexican heart (look at round 3 lol what a beast) in his prime etc and on the management side of things his trainer already had intimate knowledge of Joshua due to already having fought Joshua with Dominic breazeale, that kind of preparation is almost unheard of, they had all the aces coming into this fight.

Josh has also shown some struggles when his speed advantage is negated with the smaller fighters, Parker povetkin etc I don't know if it is a good idea to pursue the rematch, I think Ruiz beats him again and has his number, Ruiz will be more confident and in better condition the second time round, josh may never be the same if he loses again to Ruiz. Maybe wait till fury or deontay fight Ruiz and hope one of them beats him and then fight the winner to get the titles back. The heavy weight division has become interesting again, ps I hope those who gave Ruiz no chance have learned their lesson, lesson being that Andy Ruiz jr is ****ing good fighter.

I mean when you go against someone every time, you'll be right eventually. Wilder eventually is getting KO'd. But that won't make me Nostradamus.

 

The thing is, I can, for example, go against Wilder every time and analyze how his opponent will beat him based on his opponent's strengths and Wilder's weaknesses. I can make a good analysis every time but Wilder always wins because the guy just wasn't good enough to impose his style on Wilder. When I finally get it right, I can point to my analysis and look a genius.

 

I picked Wilder as an example. As I don't think he's very good. I wouldn't be surprised if he got KO'd in any of his fights but also don't have a lot of faith in his opponents to do the job. It was just an example.
