Joshua knockdowns: Klitschko, Ruiz, wobbled by Whyte but not down. Sparring rumours galore. Fury knockdowns: Cunningham, Wilder, Pakjic + numerous wobbles against B and C level opponents. Wilder knockdowns: Sconiers, Stiverne and Nicols (ruled as slip) + numerous wobbles against C level opponents. AJ seemed completely gassed and unable to continue after four Ruiz knockdowns, even against Klitschko he needed several rounds of relative inactivity to recover. He has power though and has the ability to get to his man first, just goes to show Ruiz has some cojones on him to go after him like that. Fury seems to tumble over easily but has amazing recovery, he is also the slickest of the bunch and able to avoid getting hit if fully focused and despite carrying only average power it seemed to be enough to put Wilder off launching his trademark windmill attack. Wilders chin looked to be worse of the bunch but held up well against Ortiz and Fury despite taking flush shots. After Saturday night I would say I would say Joshua is more vulnerable overall. Thoughts?
If you're going to mention wobbles then you might as well mention Szpilka and Molina who clearly wobbled Wilder.
Valid point and not singling out Joshua. Fury has also been 'wobbled' a few times even Joey Abell made his knee's do a little dip in the 4th.
Fury has the worst ability to remain standing after getting hit with a shot but the best recovery abilities and mentality when hurt. Joshua has the best physical ability to withstand a shot (Wlad, Whyte) but the worst recovery abilities and mentality when hurt. Wilder has a mixture of both. Gets rocked by mediocre punches but seems to recover quite well.
Updated Tyson Fury aka Gypsy Squad aka Coke Squad Down against Bum Squad Wilder, non punchers Pajkic and Cunningham (albeit USS is CW Level so no shame there), and Firtha hurt him and made his legs dip. I've heard rumours of him being dropped in sparring too. Dillian White claims to have dropped him in the gym, David Price being one of them who I was informed by another poster the other day dropped him very hard in sparring Donkey Wilder aka Bum Squad aka Duck Squad Dropped, wobbled everytime he was hit (and even wobbled sometimes by air shots), and stopped by Romanov in the amateurs. Romanov even made his legs dance to two different genres of music at the same time (chicken dance and salsa aka The Chicken Salsa). Dropped x 2 and badly hurt in sparring by Wlad with big gloves and pillows on and word on the street is Wlad actually sparked him out x 2. Dillian Whyte claims to have seen footage of him being KO'd in the gym and we all know Whyte has been pushing hard for that fight for years and that Bum Squad wants no part of him. Wobbled and hurt by Eric Molina left hook Dropped by Dustin Nichols who'd had a bad camp and wasn't in optimum shape And he was ''dropped hard with only the bell saving him from being knocked out'' by Harold Sconiers and it ''took forever for his head to clear'' after he hauled his ass off the canvas and the bell came to his rescue. The footage for that fight has vanished from existence but a reliable source who shall remain nameless informs me that only the master copy of it survives which is buried deep in Al Haymon's vault in a secret location down a mine somewhere in Alaska Ortiz hurt him and had him out on his feet before the bell came to his rescue in that one too. Bum Squad is lucky he kept his chin down during the assault by Old Man River Ortiz aka Mr Cement Feet/I Couldn't Avoid a Right Hand if my Life Depended on it or he would've been sparked out cold by the senior citizen Anthony Joshua aka Robo Squad Wobbled badly bandy leg style and hurt and stopped by Mihai Nistor in the amateurs. He did finish on his feet but only because the ref rightfully waved it off He was also dropped by Dillian White in the amateurs and badly hurt by a left hook from him in the pros Dropped hard by Wlad in the pros but unlike Bum Squad never hit the canvas in the gym when they sparred each other And David Price dropped him flat on his face hard in sparring and he needed assistance to make it out of the ring Numerous other British HWs have claimed to have dropped him in sparring too: Okolie, JJJ, Dubois and the later is adamant he did Dropped x 4 and stopped by Obese Squad
You have to put in Dustin Nichols who DID drop Wilder with a check jab although ref incorrectly ruled a slip
Fury's been rocked by Firtha, McDermott and Chisora as well. He can't physically take a shot very well. Like a lot of things, his sheer willpower powers him through.
He seems to get caught and it almost awakens him in the fight. I think he needs a wake up call as he gets over confident sometimes.
Its hard to say as Wilders opposition is so poor. So far Wilder Dropped by Scronier Dropped by Nichols Rocked by Molina Rocked by Ortiz Fury Dropped by Wilder x 2 Dropped by Cunningham Dropped by Pjakic Rocked by Flirtha Rocked by Chisora Rocked by Mcdermott Rocked by Abell AJ Dropped by Ruiz x 4 Dropped by Wlad Rocked by Whyte
Casual fans like to say that because they don't know any better. I don't recall Oliver McCall being dropped period. Guys like George Chuvalo were stopped on his feet. Foreman was knocked down only 4 times in 81 bouts. David Tua had a great chin.
I always questioned Wilder's chin until the King Kong fight. Ortiz was landing bombs. Joshua and Fury both would have folded like lawn chairs.
This. Joshua can definitely take a shot but his ability to recover is terrible, look how long it took him in the Klitschko fight. He was obviously taking so long against Ruiz because he was waiting for that 2nd wind which wasn’t coming. Like you say, you saw fury come back firing straight away after being caught absolutely flush by the best puncher in the division. It’s something you can’t learn or teach.
