I don't think Hearn will force it. I believe Joshua wants it himself. Well, maybe he just thinks that he wants it, but what he really wants is to get all of his titles back but without fighting Ruiz again.

It might be too quick for AJ to rematch, but realistically they don't really have a choice:
    A. I don't think the fans will forgive him if he doesn't try for an immediate rematch. Fair or not, there is no question that the appearance AJ quit at the end hurts him with fans. His own crowd was going him after the fight. He needs to be aggressive to win them back and not let any others drift away.
    B. If he doesn't enforce the rematch, make no mistake, Haymon will match Ruiz up with Wilder. He won't trust Ruiz to hold on to those belts, and he'll try to unify them all with Wilder to make sure the division runs through him. If that happens, AJ will either be frozen out of a title shot or will have to accept terrible terms.

Ruiz may want to unify against Wilder instead. The first mexican HW champ is a big deal. I do believe they will support him.

The rematch will happen next due tonthe legal obligations. It will be the only chance a Hearn fighter will have a chance of WC shot because as we seen with Whyte Haymon will still avoid them.

whether AJ wins is another thing( I thing he will but I am not overly confident).

This. If AJ doesn't fight him. He won't get a shot down the line. We'll see more of the terrible fights like Wilder vs Arreola

With that chin...you think it’s 50/50? I’ve heard a lot of things but wow man, that’s just insane.

Legal "obligations" mean jack when it comes to the money at stake here. I'm not sure why quite a lot of you buy into this "muh obligations" immediate rematch line. Ruiz is going to get advised by people who have literal decades more experience than Eddie Hearn in what to do next, and potentially getting robbed in London unless it's for crazy money isn't going to be at the top of the list of priorities. Stop listening to Hearn going on about London, he's not in charge anymore.

As to the force of rematch...I think some are underestimating the level of psychology barriers AJ has to face here. Do you really think he fancies the prospect of potentially being humiliated on his home turf? He does actually do the fighting btw, not Hearn. I expect to see Joshua taking the foreseeable future off.

If he wants to retire then let him, this wouldn't surprise me. Wilder would have seriously hurt him last night, like, never fighting again hurt him. I think he will basically semi-retire at this point ala David Haye and make comebacks as and when his bank account dictates.

I get that MRFC are in denial and shock still, but the simple reality is assuming we humour the prospect of a rematch, and AJ wins, he still has to face Wilder and Fury and win. The odds on that are not great. Accept it lads, it's over.

Without the titles AJ has no leverage at all.

Ruiz will be free to unify with Wilder and Wilder will control the division and all negotiations. If AJ gets his belts back vs Ruiz at the end of the year, he will almost be exactly back where he started (prior to last Saturday). Wilder's draw (loss) to Fury didn't kill his career, he actually became bigger. If AJ beats the Mexican heavyweight champion, it will create a lot of buzz for him. Ruiz became a name now over night.

Who is my boy? I’m team Ruiz. I think he beats everybody other than Fury.

The suspense is killing me, who were you talking about? Both Joshua and Wilder are fragile. Both knocked out by little men as amateurs, both knocked down by fat men as pros.
Joshua probably has the better chin, Whyte, Wlad and Ruiz are no joke. Molina and Ortiz rocked Wilder to his boots. Joshua got stopped by the ref trying to buy time leaning on the ropes, Wilder’s corner wasted 20 seconds getting the ref to look at a non-existent cut at the start of the round following the round 109 year old Ortiz almost stopped him.
Ruiz sparks chinny Wilder out no problem, he’ll probably beat Joshua in the rematch as well.
