this fight was what i envisioned as mikeys most favorable scenario in the spence fight. ruiz was allowed the mid range too easily, where his advantage in hand speed and shorter punches gave him his best chance. aj cooperated, spence didnt. spence kept the fight long range, where his jaw was out of danger.
to be fair, aj is not good enough to control distance like spence can, he will have to fight at some point.

I'd love to see what Sanders would do to some of today's hws. Corrie is one of HW boxing's great what ifs. Wish he could have matched up against more contenders.

When Ali was well past it, being told by his own doctor not to fight, and in the throes of early Parkinson’s.

Sanders lost to Nate Tubbs before he even beat Wlad. In his physical prime. And was KTFO while fighting at home.

    Also KO’d by Rahman.

    Big difference.

His entire resume rests on an upset of Wlad. No way he’s in the class with Fury and Wilder.

    We were speaking about TALENT

Sanders had insane talent. Didnt even train properly.

Im not saying he would beat Fury but Wilder most definitely. A sharper and more aggressive version of Luis Ortiz.

Wlad had no chance against Sanders bc ....

    1. He didnt train for or with a southpaw.

    2. Was clocked real early and would never had recovered.

    3. It was also known Wlad was already planning his vacation while the Sanders fight was going on,a rookie mistake. Also coincides with AJ in Miami .

The ACTUAL comparison is Ross Purrity in a fight he SHOULD have won and was winning and up on.( the fight was stopped early ,he was fighting back ) Had Wlad lasted that last rnd he wins.

the comparison is also in number of fights ,Wlad lost in his 25th fight and AJ in 23rd.

It should also be noted it is CONFIRMED AJ went into the Ruiz fight with concussion.

AJ however will not take easy touches and will resume actual relevant fights unlike Wlad and Lewis ,even though no one actually wanted a rematch with Wlad ,seems to run in the family @LennoxLewis . lol

Yeah when he was dialed in and focused on a fight, he was as dangerous as anybody. Sanders vs Tua, Ibeabuchi, Lewis, Holyfield all would have been fun fights with Corrie always having a chance with that laser beam left.

The Ross Purrity fight was way different. Wlad beat the absolute **** out of Purrity for several rounds without even coming close to going down. Can’t say the same for AJ.

Wlad gassed from throwing too much and using to much energy trying to show off for his hometown crowd. Joshua did gas but also had his brains scrambled early and couldn’t recover. Just got his ass whooped by a tougher and better fighter. It happens!

Nate Tubbs in his prime would ko Wilder. Lennox got KO’d by Rahman.

Sanders completely demolished Wlad without getting hurt.

Joshua actually knocked down Ruiz and got sloppy when going in for the kill.

Joshua at least has something to work on.
