Joe Rogan podcast, says they should face off in a boxing fight because it would be "interesting", Joe is convinced that Ngannou can connect with Wilder even if he is inexperienced in boxing.

    Wat crack is Joe smoking?

Would be interesting with MMA gloves but not in boxing. Small gloves adds that chaos factor. Both hit hard enough to put the other out.

Whilst I think Joe Rogan is a good guy he has turned into a complete idiot and sometimes talks like a drunk no nothing idiot you might see down the pub. He also said Rousey would defeat 50 % of male UFC 135 lb fighters. Basically he has no credibility these days and many people see him as a joke. Don't pay any attention to what he says anymore.

Francis couldn’t even outbox Stipe. Not a Wilder fan, but he would demolish Ngannou

Man, I'm one of the first onto the "Wilder has no skill" train, but Ngannou isn't exactly SRL himself. I'd make Wilder a solid favourite for this one with the caveat that by boxing standards Wilder has a sad defence and that Ngannou can hit like a truck.

I think Joe's lengthy background in Tae Kwon Do bleeds into his analysis of striking overall. I think he's biased to overvalue plaudits earned in kick boxing and Muay Thai.

I believe this because when Schaub mentioned Wilder's Olympic medal and world title wins, Joe's rejoinder was to mention Overeem's K-1 Grand Prix title. While the K-1 Grand Prix is extremely prestigious within kickboxing the participatory rate in kickboxing is dwarfed about a hundred times over by the participatory rate of amateur boxing. When you consider the level of competition to make it to the medal stand at the Olympics and compare it to the competition to win a K-1 title...well the comparison is pretty laughable.

I also think Joe has a weird fascination with exceptional physical performance and just things that are large or powerful in general. You don't have to be an avid listener to be familiar with Joe's lengthy obsessions with Francis' power, the physiques of guys like Yoel Romero & Hector Lombard, Grizzly bears, TRT Vitor.

He just said the best scene in the history of Game of Thrones was when Drogon burned Varys :duh Like I said, size really seems to impress Rogan.

To be fair Overeem faced killers in the K1 arena. Some of the people he fought include Badr Hari (x2), Tyrone Spong, Remy Bonjasky(x2),Peter Aerts and Gokhan Saki . Deontay has an amateur boxing record of 30-5.

Spot on, solid post. Joe obsessions probably stems from the fact that he is a little on the small side and wishes he was much bigger lol.

He is obsessed with many things, like always being right and drooling over talented strikers. He is a good striker himself, and strives for perfection which again stems with his obsession with the strike game lol.

He lost perspective in this case and overvalued Ngannou's strike game in a professional boxing bout.

I tell you also whats a crock of ****, him telling Schaub how it is with his career and he should retire...That wasn't a friend telling him the right thing, that was someone trying to bring someone down because of their own insecurities

I tell you what, check thisminerview with Brendan Schaubs and Kristine Leahy he speaks about his troubles during his MMA career in not being a natural fighter.

    This content is protected

And thats why Rogan and Dana called for the guy to retire because he wasnt built for MMA mentally and he was going to get.himself hurt. His athletiscm as a big boy for him only so far.. there was a lot of internal tallk and stuff going on behind the scenes with Brendans nerves and attitude to fighting.

Good interview and it will make you understand why Rogan made thise statements

let me know what you think

That's not the point I was making, I agree with it though...He wasn't doing that as a true friend live on air...If you had a pal you were concerned about and were worried for him, would you do it on a show millions listen to or would you have a 1 on 1 time with him ? There was maliciousness involved
