I can see Ward making a comeback to fight Ruiz. Ward said he could be a heavyweight champ and Ruiz seems like the perfect opponent to me. The only thing Ruiz has over Ward is power and I can see Ward outboxing Ruiz. If they fought, I think that Ward would win.

Ruiz would destroy Ward and would have beat Roy Jones also, no way could those two have done to AJ what Ruiz, AJ would have destroyed them.

Ward could have picked up a belt at cruiserweight against somebody if he wanted to fight on and do more for his legacy, he’s retired and doesn’t want it anymore. He had a great career.

AJ punches far harder than Ward did.

Like Alvarez walked down Mayweather? I think the movement difference between Ruiz and Ward is significant enough for Ward to control the distance and Ward is smart enough and strong enough to tie Ruiz up in clinches. Ruiz might win but it wouldn't be as easy as you think.

I talking about Ward fighting Ruiz, not AJ. The fact that AJ couldn't beat Ruiz doesn't preclude Ward from beating him. Ever hear of the old saying that styles make fights?

He`s too small and Ruiz has fast hands.

How the hell is a tiny guy like Ward going to tie up a 268lbs man?

Ward is probably taller, has faster hands and a longer reach than Ruiz. Whether he is too small or not is subject to debate.

Ward is not tiny and it's not like Ruiz is 268 pounds of muscle.

You don`t think Ruiz is stronger than Ward? Ward`s body would look wierd at heavy, he`s only about 5'10-11, Ruiz is far more powerful.

Ruiz is 6'2, I doubt Ward could even reach AJ`s head!

Ward is at least six feet tall and can probably weigh about 205 and be in shape. No doubt Ruiz is stronger than Ward but it would be a boxing match and not a tug-of-war and I think Ward is a much better boxer than Ruiz. Ward is retired but I know he must be having second thoughts in light of Ruiz's win.
