I feel about the same way I did before the Ruiz fight. AJ's only chance is to go the distance and leave it up to hometown judges. I just feel less confident he can survive 12 rounds with Wilder now.

I thought that Wilder could beat Joshua since before the Ruiz fight. I think Wladimir lost the fight as much as AJ won and the success he had against Anthony shows that Wilder could have success also. The way that Wlad was landing with lead rights was worrisome for AJ. It looked like he couldn't handle Wlads speed. I think AJs poor defense and head movement that lacks is a bad recipe vs Wilder. Wilder is quicker than Wlad and has faster reflexes. I also think that Wilder has a better chin than AJ. Rewatch Ortiz and compare the shots he took during that fight to the shots that buzzed/rocked/shook whatever you want to call it, Joshua. It looks to me like Anthony reacts worse to lesser shots than does Deontay. Joshua looked more exhausted than knocked out vs Ruiz and he could do better in the future but I don't see him getting past Wilder. p.s. I thought Fury won by a point vs Wilder, but was fine with the result. Really digging whats happening in the heavyweights right now! And congrats to Andy. I thought he had the skills to trouble the Joyces of the world, but not the Joshuas. Can't get em all right.

Rebuilding a career doesn't change your ability to take a punch. Wilder will land his right hand on more than the 2 occasions he did on Tyson. Theres no doubt a man who has put down every fighter he's fought as a pro will put Joshua down and if Joshua gets up his powers of recovery aren't great Wilder will land again and then thats good night, sleep tight Joshua.

I dont think so, I think Joshua is total wary of Wilders power, even more now that he's been stopped and that will knock him out of his game plan and put him on the defense.

Wilder Mental toughness, Confidence, Speed & Reach, religious belief in his Right hand vs Joshua willingness to surrender = ATG Violent KO

    March Joshua into this one...

    You singled out confidence

Anyways hopefully Joshua gets the rematch in the UK, so he can win...

Then we get to see an ATG KO

Charles martin doesn't hit like a raging demon from hell.

What he means by confidence, is the mentality to always believe he will get to his man and never give in no matter how tough it gets. Something AJ lacks.

Can you imagine Wilder quitting in a fight after begging his trainer for advice on what to do?

Never forget how awful Wilder's technique is. Anyone sparking him is not shocking, let alone Joshua who is a good fighter regardless of the loss.

No but I can imagine Joshua rendering it moot and him unconscious with an uppercut.

Wilder is significantly more powerful than Ruiz, more defensively sound fighters have hit the canvas fighting him. The wilder fight was already 50/50. Now we know Wilder has a better chin, heart, fighter mentality. He also has a better KO ratio

I'm sorry but the uppercut is powerful, it wasn't enough to take out Ruiz. Ruiz got straight back up and resumed as if nothing happened.

What happened when the right handed landed on Breazealle in comparison. The same guy Joshua was hitting with leather and couldn't get out until round 7.

The only chance Joshua has is if Wilder breaks his hands during the fight and he's fighting with no arms.

..except Ruiz has NEVER had chin issues, whereas both Wilder and Joshua have been carrying that albatross since before their pro debuts??

It's disingenuous to suggest Wilder has the same level of chin issues as Joshua.

Wilder has never been flattened on his back or knocked down 4 times in one fight.

He took Ortiz's best shots, has recovered each time he's been buzzed and you don't hear stories every other week of him getting knocked out in sparring.
