Ha ha yeah ok "Ace" Ruiz who has only ever lost 1 fight which just happened to be a World title fight & the decision was questionable .A guy who had ,up to this fight had never been off his feet, a fighter who was is & always will be faster, more skillful & far superior ring work , including foot work, balance & natural ring iq.As far as being able to keep Ruiz on the end of his jab as he had longer reach,2 things here.1 Joshua ain't no Holmes or Lewis, 2 read the above or balance, speed , footwork & iq...Joshua needs to bring his jab back in a straight line & learn some footwork, oh & polish the glass....
If Joshua can pull this off, I think would be the first time that the heavyweight championship would be regained in a rematch immediately after being thoroughly trashed.
No, Rahman one shotted Lewis in a fight he was losing. Ruiz really laid a beating on Joshua and made him arguably quit.
It happened with Lewis vs Rahman. Lewis was a 20-1 favorite to beat Rahman as was Joshua to beat Ruiz. Rahman knocked Lewis out in the 5th round. The rematch was In November of 2001 with Lewis knocking Rahman out in the 4th round to regain the titles.
Do we really think the same thing is not going to happen again? He'll still have his entourage, commercial agreements and all the other distractions. Do we really think he is going to isolate himself away and just put in the hardwork? Of course not, it is one last payday for all concerned. He's not interested in legacy now, he'll be forever known as the chump who got beaten up by the little fat Mexican.
Ruiz Jr. still a massive underdog in a rematch, although not as bad as for fight #1: Anthony Joshua: -350 Andy Ruiz Jr.: +275
Some people seem to think AJ winning this rematch will be no problem, and of course it’s possible he could do it. But the issue now is that he has some big mental roadblocks to get past, he is at a massive disadvantage in the way he was beaten, embarrassed even. Not only that but he will be under the most intense pressure and scrutiny possible. You need to be a special fighter to get over that, it doesn’t happen often. Lewis obviously managed it against rachman, but it was clear his technical abilities were generally better than his conquerors. I have serious doubts AJ can pull this off. I’m in the camp that feel this could be a big mistake, because of the manner in which he lost. AJ needs to rebuild, I see that it makes sense to take the rematch but the cost of losing is pretty devastating to his career.
No order 66 happening here, the death stars plans have been stolen by bothan spies and it was successfully taken down by Ruiz swarming it and hitting in down the pipe causing it to freeze then implode. The cats out the bag on how to destroy it, even if they try and rebuild again the same thing will happen in the return of the Mexican.
Andy should demand a higher purse than AJ for the rematch. I dont care about the location given the fact I am pretty sure it will be a repeat of the first fight and no amount of corruption from Matchroom will matter
