I saw a jackass put a spin on it because he can't handle a nice tubby guy like Ruiz hanging with an old ATG that is teaching via sparring.

yes very interested and thank you for that; thoughts:-- I know it's only sparring but a past prime Commander Vander clearly knows how to operate against a smaller/shorter ( though only just) opponent with great hand speed and accuracy. You could tell the respect he had for Ruiz and obviously knew his gifts. Anyway, don't want to over analyse as put up as fun, period piece. So again-cheers , enjoyed that little segment.

All true but Evander is high on Ruiz. He picked Ruiz over AJ btw.

He posted it as a point of interest RK -he didn't claim it was a mini 'Thrilla in Manila';.. an up and comer sparring with a Legend isn't a negative thing. Bl00dy hell, what a way to learn a few things.

Watch more boxing bro. Ruiz stuck to the game plan he used from round 1 and it paid off.

I'm pretty sure he picked Grant over Lewis.

Ruiz has had some interesting spars that's for sure.

Here's one with former UFC HW champion Andrei Arlovski

Grant was his good friend and was trained by Don Turner. Also, Michael always lacked confidence, so Holyfield probably wanted to support his friend. Plus he always thought he was robbed by the judges in rematch with Lewis, so it was more like him supporting his friend and expressing the desire to see Grant winning that fight than actually thinking he was going to win. I followed boxing for 9 years then, my friend was following boxing just for 1 year and we both gave much better predictions - mine was Lewis by KO in 3, his was Lewis by KO in 1. It doesn't make us better boxing experts than Holyfield.

People need to realize that the sparring video is from 2011, a much younger Ruiz against an end of the line but still in shape Holyfield.

Again, you fail to see the point.

So, you think that Ruiz countered the knock down that way by accident?
You know, maybe he watched the tapes and realised when AJ gets a knockdown he gets loose like Wilder. Making him very easy to counter coming forward?

Surely not, because that doesn't fit the one eye'd agenda you're trying to push. It's cool, I get it. You don't.

Unsure how you spend so much time on here IB?! There really are some braindead fanboys amongst the members!
For what it's worth, I think Ruiz implies the same game plan that he had from round 1 and dispatches of AJ again in the rematch.

Only this time, the fight will go longer as Joshua won't engage once he is hurt the first time.
