He employed the low left hand agains Povetkin too - I think it’s in some kind of belief that it will bait the shorter opponent into commiting to a straight right, which Joshua would look to counter with either a left hook or his own straight. But it rendered his jab almost useless. Poor approach for him definitely. The poster who mentioned that he is a catch counter fighter gets it right, and the low left hand, regardless of whether used as bait or not, was not effective for someone like Joshua.
A FAST handed guy does not prove that ,dont be an idiot. lol Joshua was ranked JUST below wilder in 2018 as the least hit HW and AJ is a come forward fighter so....... AJ has taking minimal shots compared to the others. 37% k.o rate is not good for Wlad who threw more punches in ONE round with AJ then he did the ENTIRE Fury fight. ,get outta here you fool. lol
What Wilder can teach him? To windmill like a maniac and fight polish soccer hooligans instead of real boxers?
I swear the once smart posters just seem to lose smarts . How is this possible ? that poster has basically lost all credibility with me there..WOW ...... lol Wilder improving Aj as a mentor ? I heard it all now, that's scarily stupid territory.
It was a joke because Wilder offered him his help in an interview with thaboxingvoice, the whole post wasn‘t serious lol.
Actually did you know aj landed only 20 more punches than fury with a round and a half to go? That’s about an extra 1.5 punches per round landed or something. Klitschko threw roughly the same, in the 200s and landed 16% on fury and 37% on josh. Sorry to burst your bubble. Fury just doesn’t hit as hard as aj so couldn’t get Wlad out of there. Wlad threw 231 in 12 rounds v fury landing 16% Wlad threw 256 in 11 and a half vs Joshua landing 37% Joshua threw 355 punches against Wlad landing 30% Fury threw 371 landing 21% So .....
This. It also doesn’t help that Joshua is very inactive for a guy with less than 25 fights under his belt. Joshua is still inexperienced as a pro fighter and should’ve been having stay busy fights in between his title defenses so he could get in more rounds, which he’s badly in need of.
No, he has mostly improved. He had a lapse in judgement when he went for the kill against Ruiz, but otherwise has been a better fighter - and also, I don't think Klitschko was really THAT good at the time they faced. Like he was more or less the same Klitschko that faced Tyson Fury... and really many of the top ten guys would have looked better against him than others have in the past. Fwiw I predicted the "Joshua had an off day" posts some went to when he faced Parker as it seems that when people are biased for one fighter, or underestimate another fighter at least - if the fighter they've underestimated has more success than they expect then for some reason instead of being introspective about their measure of two fighters, they decide they were still right and just assume their favourite had an off day/has got worse/took it easy. AJ for the most part is very level, has been very systematic about his development but is obviously not a machine because he clearly got carried away with the "OH I dropped the fatty, now he's done" spur of the moment reaction which when combined with the criticism for not being as aggressive as he has in the past no doubt led to his downfall. I am pretty sure he will win the rematch, but Ruiz is still not an easy beat.
You had me worried there, you never know on forums. Like how Ruiz was a fat nobody out of most top 10 list crying about the fight when even I said it was a better fight then Miller ( ironically I put him in the top 10 for the first time bf the AJ fight ) ,now hes going to beat up AJ all the time and is even number ONE according to some ? lol The only way its a VERY dangerous fight if he rematches at MSG where I would still heavily favor AJ.
I was still shocked by Joshua’s performance, he showed no ring iq and was unable to adjust even in the slightest way, his punch resistance and stamina also leaves a lot to be desired. He has a chance to beat Ruiz jr. but he needs to prepare accordingly, the rematch is a 50/50 fight. I was a fan of Joshua until the Klitschko fight but after that he disappointed me against Parker, Povetkin to some extent and against Ruiz jr., he fought too timid and his inconsistency is worrisome. Joshua has fights where he shows an adequate jab like against Klitschko and Parker and then he has fights where he throws everything out the window. I wouldn‘t call him a mental midget but in that departement he clearly isn‘t from the same cloth as Deontay Wilder as far as in ring performance is concerned. At the moment i would heavily favor Wilder to beat him who has the style advantage ( i know you think it‘s the other way round but i disagree ). I also think Fury would outbox him and Ortiz and Whyte wouldn‘t exactly be pushovers for Anthony Joshua.
I didn't clarify this well. I meant that Joshua's KD of Ruiz was a flash knockdown, and that Joshua then began to wing hooks that got him in trouble.
