At the end of the first round. The moment that bell rang I saw that Ruiz had his number and AJ realized it too. I had the same feeling in round 1 of Wlad-Fury and May-Pac.
Yes , in the 3rd round after peeling himself off the canvas ... he slips AJ’s right hook at 1:53 of round 3 & answered back with a counter left off AJ’s Temple that debilitated his equilibrium & robbed AJ of his Legs for the rest of the fight. His heart was taken in the 7th at 1:51 where he spits his mouth piece out you can see in his eyes he has no answers that he has searched his soul for ... His soul was already taken at the end of the 6th. When Ruiz looked like an obese de la Hoya putting on a boxing clinic stepping on the gas & took it to AJ tagging him with almost every shot he threw in the last 50 sec of that round, from body work to jabs & solid 1, 2s body / head! forcing an exhausted AJ to clinch.
Joshua's punch resistance is very questionable. This is why chin is so important man. You need that safety so you can adjust. AJ had no chance, got clipped and that was that. Tyson was brutalized by Douglas but he had a chance to win because of his chin. I know every punch is different, but Joshua is shaky.
My wife has hit me harder and cleaner than Ruiz hit AJ. Don't misunderstand me, I went down like a sack of crap but I got up and I didn't quit.
His punch ressistance is the biggest problem, hence the numerous stories of being dropped in sparring cannot be dismissed. Punch ressistance is vital when you go up against world class punchers. Besides AJ has many other weaknesses as well.
