Does a motivated AJ crush Ruiz? or Ruiz just got his number?

In the rematch I mean

 

AJ can be as motivated as he wants for the next 5-6 months. It will come crashing down when Ruiz connects with that face

 

AJ will not go out of U.K. to fight anyone for a while now. He needs his U.K. fans in the rematch.

 

AJ's issue is not motivation. He doesn't have the skill to deal with Ruiz's handspeed and counterpunching, he can't fight going backwards, doesn't know how to establish range, and doesn't seem to know how to clinch or deal with pressure.
He does however have devastating power, so there's always the chance he "crushes" any HW out there, if and when he lands.

Once he gets hit, the same fear tapes will replay and Ruiz will once again beat him down.

 

My guess is AJ plays it safe - a Wlad-esque performance of keeping distance and clinching when Andy works his way inside. AJ probably wouldn't mind gunning for a boring decision win (especially in the UK), which could happen if, in response to AJ's tentativeness and reliance on a long jab, Ruiz gets suckered into complacency waiting for a perfect counter that just doesn't present itself often enough.

But I'm leaning more towards the idea that Ruiz' attributes are simply all wrong for AJ. Bad style match up. The speed of his combinations, his power, counter punching adeptness, his unpredictability (in the way he can switch from patient counter punching stalker to brawl machine in an instant). I'm thinking all these combined skills and athletic traits are too much for a boxer as immobile and reflexively average as AJ. So basically just take it to AJ when the opportunity is right. There's no way in hell AJ makes the same mistake of exchanging with him so Ruiz needs to intelligently force the fight, make him uncomfortable, make him lose his composure. Secure the KO if it's in the UK.

 

If you try to crush Ruiz, you end up getting crushed. Just ask Joshua. This thread title is ******ed.

 

AJ fought very defensively against Parker.

Maybe he can pull it off....

 

I would favor AJ to win on points, assuming he is not stupid enough to trade with ruiz inside this time. He was winning the first 2 rounds boxing from outside. Then he dropped ruiz and went into wild trades to finish. Ruiz is durable with fast, hard combinations.

 

Obviously all the geniuses on here have now retired with their big winnings they made on the 20/1 Ruiz odds. They can top that up in the rematch with Ruiz being 11/4.

 

Some people here are just so .... Before the fight they was altering AJ, now he is some kind of a bum, who will be KOed by almost everyone in the division. This people are delusional.
AJ obviously wasn`t ready and have off night. He underestimate Ruiz and pay the price. Ruiz connected in the ear area, and when you hit there it`s very hard to recover, which Joshua obviously didn`t do.
That`s why Ruiz won the fight, because of that shot. Everything you see after that was due to that shot.
Joshua just go too much wild, after he put Ruiz on the ground and that fu*** him.
Joshua was hit hard by Klitschko, Whyte, and a lot of hooks from Povetkin, yet he recover and won this fights.
The difference with Ruiz was, that he didn`t rely on 1 big pucn, but on combo to put AJ down. This is the way to KO Joshua. Not by 1 hard punch, but combination of punches. So what Joshua needs to do is work on movement, that defence and how to not get hit by multiple punches, after he get hit flush.
Everyone get hit hard eventually, Klitschko as well, but he didn`t allow flurry of punches after that. AJ needs to learn that.
He is still a top level boxer and i still prefer him over the rest in the DV.
