Wilder in the rematch will need to avoid wasting punches. In the first fight he punched himself out by throwing and missing too many punches. He now knows how super elusive Fury is and Fury will eventually slow down and gas in the middle rounds. That is where Wilder's reserves of energy by conserving his punches in the early rounds will come in handy
I expected Wilder with in 3 rounds last time. And we all saw what happened, so Fury UD but all it takes is flush right
Let's be completely honest, Tyson Fury completely dominated Wilder and made him look even more awkward than he usually does. Without the knockdowns this fight would be a footnote in history. Wilder had a moment to catch a still (rehabbing, not quite on his game) Fury and still couldn't cash the check. I say Fury stops him the next time they fight.
Hitting the Weights? Wilder fought Ortiz in February, thought he was fighting Breazeale that summer then ended up fighting Fury in December. Wilder is thin as a rail to begin with. And he basically spent all year in the gym. By the time December rolled around, Wilder was lighter than for any fight since his pro debut. Wilder was emaciated. Yet, he still flattened Fury twice and, frankly, could've easily been awarded a 12th round TKO. When Wilder has a normal camp, Wilder weighs in the mid 220s. He had a normal camp for Breazeale last month, and he looked great and punched hard. I've been listening to this nonsense that Tyson Fury will be better for the rematch. Tyson Fury was sharp as hell and fighting at an excellent weight for him the night he faced Wilder. Wilder, on the other hand, didn't fight well at all. And yet he still nearly pulled out a TKO win at the end. Wilder was scrawny. He missed a lot. He wasn't sharp at all. Fury was. All Wilder has to do is have a NORMAL camp, come in weighing 226/228, and come out aggressively ... which he should since he knows he can floor Fury and Fury - despite being nearly 50 pounds heavier than Wilder - couldn't drop Wilder. Wilder looked GREAT last time out (against Breazeale). He's back on a normal fighting schedule now. There are no delays. Ortiz is up next. I expect Wilder to stop Ortiz in a round or two. And then enter the Fury fight hitting on all cylinders. But the argument that Fury was not at his best for their first meeting and Wilder was, is a joke. Their weights told the story as much as anything else. Fury was a little lighter than he's been for most of his fights, and Wilder was totally depleted and fought like it.
Fury hasn't gassed a single time in his entire career. Now he's going to gas in the middle rounds? Lol. Fury is effectively a 15 round fighter.
In that Wilder fight, i am not sure why he got knocked down, whether it was a lapse in concentration, show boating or just getting tired in round 9 and 12. Anyways my point was that Wilder will be best advised to conserve his punches early in the fight so that he has the fuel tank for his windmills later on when Fury's legs are slower.
Why did you think Wilder was going to win in one round? He couldn`t stop Ortiz in one round and was being completely out-boxed.
Damn this aged hideously. Well so did all @Dubblechin Wilder predictions in this thread. It was a shorter night for Wilder though so... you know... spot on there. Predictions for the third fight they’ll have in, when has it been postponed to again..2023?
I've got Wilder by knockout within four. Wilder knows he can land on Fury now and will go at him from the very first bell. Course Fury could outbox him again, but he'll need to be perfect for twelve rounds. Wilder only has to be perfect for one second, and I think he's got the measure of Fury now and won't hold back. Sooner or later he'll clock Fury with a big right and that's all she wrote. I'm a Fury fan so I really want him to win, but my gut is just telling me he's running on borrowed time here.
I predict Fury wins by 7th round stoppage. I except Fury to press the action and force Wilder on the backpedel with his jab. He'll do this so Wilder will have less time and room to load up his right hand. I also expect Fury to do some sloppy infighting and lean all over Wilder because Wilder can't fight on the inside. It'll wear him downeventually for Wilder to be there for the taking by round 6 or 7. But if Wilder proves me wrong credit to him
Did I say "short night's work" for fight two? I meant for Fight 3. (LOL) I'm from the future, so sometimes I lose track of which year I've stopped in. Was I in 2019 when I wrote that? (I see the error.) Wilder KO1 Fury (Fight 3)
