Back on top of ring magazine rankings!

    It was never in doubt.

Joshua 4th behind Ruiz, Wilder and the Gypsy King.

    Joshua is 4th?

Tyson is nowhere near 1st. He drew with a man who holds one belt.

Tyson hasn't had a meaningful win in nearly 5 years!

Wilder would probably have to be 1 at the minute. Fury’s best win in the last 4 years is Pianetta.

Exactly. He isn't beating a top guy anytime soon, IMHO.

    Ruiz
    Wilder
    Josh
    Fury

That's how the rankings should be.

Number of belts you own is pretty irrelevant. Andrade has more than GGG but a win over GGG is better than a win over Andrade.

I guess the ring are putting their stock in the Wlad win despite it being a long time ago. Or maybe whoever compiled the list thinks the decision for a draw was bad enough to just override, that's only other thing I can think of

Pretty much how I see it - combination of lineal champion and getting the better of the draw edges him ahead of Wilder. Ruiz at #3 as he has a loss to a lower ranked fighter and no other marquee wins. Depends on criteria and opinion to a great extent.

Ultimately they need to sort it out in the ring and take the subjectivity out of it.

Rings panel of experts all had Tyson Fury winning the fight against Wilder. That is their reasoning for having him #1. Do you disagree?

He didn’t win the fight though did he? His best win in the last 4 years is Pianetta. That’s not enough to be considered number 1 in my book. If he goes out and gets the Wilder rematch and beats him then yes he’s comfortably number 1 but right now...

I think it's fantastic that the most respected ranking system out there overlook corrupt decisions to put fighters in their rightful position. Why would we dispute such a system?

The dogs on the street know Tyson Fury deserved the nod that night. Therefore he should be ahead of Wilder, who is deservedly 2nd. AJ can't be ahead of Ruiz so the top 4 is absolutely spot on.

Yes but Fury did beat Wilder in all honesty but ok he didnt get the decision, still that aside Furys best win 5 years ago is still better than any win wilder has had in the pst 5 years.

It really weren’t THAT clear cut though. On the night I scored it a draw. @Jurgen and many others gave it to Wilder. I think a lot of the rounds were draws and then Tyson won the majority but then the knockdowns brought it back to even. But that’s a different argument for a different thread!

90% of the forum disagree with you and Jurgen. (According to all the polls) Ring magazine disagree with you and Jurgen.

I think it's fair to say most scored the fight for Fury, and the rest scored the fight wrong.

It's their magazine, and they think Fury won the fight, so why should they not have him #1?

GGG ran that division for years, everyone knew it. Fury never.

I stand by my card giving it to Wilder by one round but respect any decision in that fight as it was very close.

Beginning to feel like Terry Spud O'Connor on here :aaaaa:
