Why did Wilder fail to become a superstar like AJ or AJ level money, PPVs and gate attendances?

I mean the guy trash talks in press conferences, backs up his trash talk with devestating one round knock outs, he has been in some tough fights like Stiverne, Ortiz, Molina, Fury, Spilka where either he was being outboxed or hit but he hung in there like a warrior and got the knock outs, he lives and operates in the US which should be the boxing Mecca.

In comparison you see Anthony Joshua where he has been shown to be vulnerable against Dylian Whyte, Wladimir Klitschko, Carlos Takam, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin but yet he got high PPV's, gate attendances and purses of $20 million for his fights?

Are Showtime to blame for not promoting Wilder properly and short changing him all these years? Was it wise for him to reject the DAZN offer of $100 million unless Showtime in private have assured him they will start paying him that kind of money? Should he change his promoters and managers?

I mean even Fury got an $80 million deal from ESPN. Something has to change because its bizzare how come he has been fighting on $1-2 million purses for the bulk of his career.

The AJ thing isn't what they're have you believe,he's big in the UK but how could we forget that Froch fought in front of 80.000 fans.
Boxing is bigger and attended more in Britain. This is nothing new as Andre Ward had the same lack of love from America as Wilder has.

AJ would not have become such a big name had he been fighting in America from the beginning.

Boxing is a niche sport in America, and has to compete with a host of other bigger sports such as the NFL, baseball, Basketball, andNASA Racing.

In the UK, boxing is now the number 2 sport followed after football.

If Wilder was a uk fighter with his power and record he'd have been knighted by the Queen by now

But the thing is that the real money is still in America, i mean look at Floyd who makes $300-$400 million per fight. I mean Wilder should have done much better and i feel his promoters, managers have failed him, the guy should be worth $100 million right now.

Floyd was thriving in the one division which still held the imagination of the US and Mexican market, the welterweight divisiion.

If you remember the heavyweight division was dead for many years after the likes of Tyson and Lewis retired.

Many lost interest. However the welterweight, still had many great legendary fighters and big Mexican names from Mosley, Cotto, Pacquiao, Margarito, Oscar and Mayweather

The division was always thriving stateside and is still going strong to this very day. Had Wilder been a welterweight, then sure your argument would be valid.

Can the likes of Wilder, Fury, AJ, Ruiz revive heavyweight boxing in the US to the point where we see these guys getting paid $20-30 million per fight? I can say that exit of Klitshko's has definately revived heavyweight boxing worldwide

Wilder wouldn`t be famous in Britain if he was British, he talks like an idiot, AJ is better looking, a lot of women like him, my mother likes him, he`s far more charming than Wilder, PPV has hurt boxing in Britain.

100 million? Wilder isn`t even the P4P best fighter in the world, what the herll has he done to earn 100 million, Floyd was a far more stylish fighter than Wilder and had more personality.

Wilder outside of boxing is apparently a religious and family man who lives a simple lifestyle. The reason why he took up the sport is to provide for the medical needs of his daughter. Maybe this could be the reason why the papparazi has never been inquisitive about him outside Boxing

Highlight knock out reals. He is undefeated in 40 plus fights. He should have made some serious money by now.

Rugby is far more popular in Britain than boxing, so is cricket, AJ is the only famous boxer in Britain right now, but even after beatring Wlad he didn`t win the sports personality of the year award, he didn`t even come third that year.

No, a lot of those KO`s looked clumsy and most of his opponents were lame, he fought a number of early fights in hotels and other cheap little places, AJ was plugged so much because he won gold at the olympics.

    No it isn't.

In the past it was, today boxing is growing and growing. It's headline news when a big fight takes place

When was the last big cricket or rugby event that was breaking news across all uk networks?

I`m sure the rugby world cup got more viewers thanany boxing PPV event (except AJ`s fights) because boxing is on PPV now, the average man in the street doesn`t know any other boxder than AJ or sometimes Fury but most British people have never seen Fury fight, he was pretty unknown before he beat Wlad.
