Why did Wilder fail to become a superstar like AJ or AJ level money, PPVs and gate attendances?

Trump liked Tyson and King too, after he housed Tyson`s fight with Spinks at the Trump plaza he defended Tyson over the **** allegation 3-4 years later.

Wilder has said he has two personalities, the normal, calm Wilder and the guy preparing for a fight, like an alter ego, Ray Leonard used to say the same thing, he had an alter ego in the ring, Ray was even sexually abused by his amateyr coach when he was 15, I couldn`t see any grown man trying that on a 15 year old Tyson.

In team sports there's always the home team to support, no matter who plays for that team. The popularity of individual sports depends on the star power of those at the top. And since most of humanity is very tribal in it's thinking, the popularity of an individual sport depends on how good the guys (or women) from your home country are. Britain has a lot of good fighters, including two of the best heavyweights and so boxing is very popular there right now. But you also need the attention of the media. Wilder probably isn't getting the attention from the media in the US that a guy like Mayweather got. And there's of course also the PPV thing which prevents casual fans from tuning in and becoming hardcore fans eventually.

No, it's called making a judgement on someone based on a number of things. What they've said in the past, body language, tone etc. Are you autistic?

Joshua fought all the best and Wilder avoided all the best until very recently. That's why. Joshua was the real thing and Wilder was the hyped up imitation. Anyone could see that Joshua knew how to box and Wilder didn't. It's that simple.

Honestly, as well as some other factors. Wilder is truly a dummy, to the extent where his English isn't very good. He isn't believable for that reason, and says things where you're more like "Wtf is this guy talking about?" than, oh wow he's controversial, that's cool.
    He's really stupid.

He does this thing where he thinks he's being so ruthless with what he's saying and he says it like, softly and tries to make it venomous. But rather than have that chilling effect that he's going for, it actually makes you giggle a little, and cringe.

Americans lost interest when the Klits ruled the Heavyweight division for 10 years because they were not Americans... If the Klits had been two good Ol' Boys from Texas they'd been household names and made numerous trips to the White House to be awarded medals... They jumped to UFC also, why? Bob Arum talked about it, everyone knows why... Videos on YouTube of Arum saying why they jumped from watching boxing to UFC... it's obvious...

Wilder didn't build much of a resume.

His best result is a D (which should have been an L) against a diminished and coming back Fury.

Joshua and Wilder both did lots of record padding with Cab Drivers, Plummers, Fast Food Workers, Walmart Floor Scrubbers, Cable TV Installer's, Bosnian Uber Drivers, Washed Up 40 year old Grandpa's, etc...

and everybody was shocked when the Snickers Bar King destroyed one of the Hype Job Twins...

    Lack of exposure and marketing.

    Lack of quality opponents.

Lack of an 'event' type fight.

    ...

That being said... ita slowly starting to happen. If Wilder somehow manages to beat Fury, I expect him to be a legit name by their third fight.

Wilder doesn't have a consistent personality for people to relate to. He's neither a crazy, stone-cold killer, nor someone sympathetic people can root for, yet he tries both angles and it comes off completely fake. You might hear him tearing up talking about his daughter and how everything he does in boxing is for her, then the next minute hear him threatening to kill someone in front of their whole family. For a casual fan that's a massive WTF moment right there.

In marketing terms his brand's all over the place.

Its the big long list of bums. He caught the interest of American sports fans years ago, but when the level of opposition remained at the "NOBODY" level they lost interest again, they love a knockout but if they want to watch bums getting knocked out they can just go to youtube. I remember American fight fans complaining about when Wilder was going to step it up 20 fights ago.

Thing is, he is here now. NOW he is mixing it up at the top and the rise in popularity remained modest. I thought he had done a good job grabbing attention off Anthony Joshua and a number of controversial things he said as well as other things and i was really surprised to see how poor his numbers were against Breazeale. Forget AJ numbers, AJ is British, it works different over here. And forget Floyd numbers, you have to be a special kind of fighter and speaker to get to where Floyd did and no offence to Wilder but he isnt anything like Floyd. Who is?

Personally i think he should of took that Joshua fight, the 40% offer or the 100 million one. If he had done that and been successful Wilder would of become an over night superstar.
