With the new trainer (Banks) is Golovkin ready to fight Canelo next?

    Ok, Golovkin and Banks tried some new approaches in the Rolls fight. Also, some approaches to training are different now as well (for example instead of 5 minute sparring rounds Banks wanted it to be 3 minute rounds), etc.
    So, the question is, under Johnathan Banks' guidance, is Golovkin ready to fight Alvarez next?
    And I understand that he's 37 already, so he just can't wait, but let's imagine he's a couple of years younger now.

    He will never again be ready, imo.

    So next is as good a time as any. The sooner the better.

    Honestly he wont beat Canelo at this point. G losing his speed he didn't look that good...

    He can't beat Canelo on the cards. No point. He is getting older as well.

    So, actually Golovkin's plan will be "If Banks' advice doesn't work, I can always stop listening to him and revert to my old ways of fighting".
    Isn't it... Well, let's say not the best way to go into such important fight? :smile: Especially after only 4 rounds at a catch-weight (most probably, it was very problematic for Golovkin to make weight for the MW after a long pause).

    GGG is simply too old now to hang with a prime top fighter like Canelo.

    Looks like Canelo's plan of waiting and waiting worked.

    Still, GGG won the first fight, the second was closer and the third, well it will be a Canelo KO.

    Prime GGG destroys Canelo.

    GGG was always a very good fighter. People say his style isn't conducive with his age but he really doesn't rely totally on athleticism or explosiveness to close the distance nor has he really taken alot of damage. Hes quite skillful but I do think another fight with canelo would probably be a close loss again.

    What prime ggg ?? Who did "prime " ggg beat that makes you think he destroys someone that has never even been dropped before???

    The guy who can beat Canelo needs to knock him out to win. Canelo has a granite chin so I doubt GGG can K.O. him. And If the decision goes to the judges then GGG will lose the fight again. It doesn't matter who is the trainer of GGG at the moment.

    Prime GGG is the guy who ODLH and Canelo did not want to face until age was in their favour.

    Still, it did'nt stop GGG winning the 1st clearly, and winning the 2nd in a closer fight.

    This. GGG’s stamina and durability have declined a lot. I also see Canelo stopping him if the fight a third time.
