There were plenty of seats available for the Joshua fight last week. Also there were plenty of seats going for much less than face value, as an American guy who sat with us in a bar beforehand for the football went on to Stubhub and paid $48 (about £38) to sit in the same block that we'd paid £300 face value for through Ticketmaster.
Sheesh that is a discount. Not sure where the whole, highest grossing fight ever for MSG come from? Must have been very few Americans there then?
I’m amazed they can find 12,000 people in the USA to turn up for that kind of mismatch. Boxing is dead in the USA. UFC is king.
And rightly so, in UFC the best fight the best. Boxing is still bigger on a night of a super fight, but that only comes around every five or ten years.
MSG like any venue will rent to anyone who can meet the price. They don’t care if you sell out or set up a ping pong table in the middle for two people to play a game.
