"We'll make him wait. We'll see. He's the B fighter now. Canelo's the A fighter. I think Canelo will knock him out." Wow, Oscar wants to make sure that GGG is super old before letting Canelo fight him again...
It is sad to see what a lame Oscar has become. I remember back when he said he would never be like other promoters.
ODLH does not control that company. He is just the mouthpeice. DAZN and the venture capitalists (ie cartel and Vegas money) who have more influence will call the shots.
I have the series 1-1. As a fan of GGG, he needs to let it go and move on, fight someone else. He scored a beautiful KO tonight but he will lose a third fight by UD, possibly TKO. He got caught to many times tonight by Rolls, Canelo is actually improving while GGG is on the downside.
It's been Oscar's plan all along to wait until Golovkin got old, when will they fight? Probably wait until Golovkin is 50, but really around 40 and to keep Golovkin inactive! I had Golovkin beating El Pollo both times!
Remember when Klitschko wasn't old at 41 and Povetkin wasn't old at 39, and then The Burrito Blob KO'd Joshua because he was in his blob prime, despite being possibly under 6ft (Oscar called him 5'10 even) and therefore shorter and more clinically obese than people actually think. He's likely not even a natural cruiser. I guess age matters more than we like to admit.
ggg chose money over the fight, more than once. hes a very rich man because of it, no room to feel sorry cause he didnt get the whole cake.
although to be honest, I am not too excited about a third match.. I want to see them fight other people. Especially GGG who really never fought top top guys except Canelo.
Heavyweights go under different rules. They can be 41 but not middleweights. That is much harder and more impressive to be on top at an older age.. heavyweights? They fight at a slower pace and many guys are heavy and out of shape.
That's sad. Oscar was a great and courageous fighter. Younger Canelo fought some very good opponents. It's a shame they are following the Al/Floyd plan.
It's not as simple as just age. The style a fighter uses and wear and tear play a part. After the first Peter fight, Wlad barely took any damage until the Joshua fight. A lot of his fights were glorified sparing sessions, he was that dominant. Even in the Fury fight he hardly took much punishment. GGG on the other hand spent large parts of his career wilfully neglecting his defence and skills and taking unnecessary shots to prove how tough he is.
