He was very competitive vs Floyd. The first 6 rounds vs Floyd were very close, some of the closest rounds Floyd's ever had. Floyd didn't start pulling away until the 7th round which was a big round for him. Like you said Canelo was very young, and the 152 catchweight made it a struggle for Canelo to make weight. Lets be real Floyd stacked the deck against Canelo but despite it all I thought he gave Floyd a tough fight. But Floyd won there was never any argument over that.

For you to claim Floyd embarrassed Canelo is a little much, though. I mean there were some moments where Floyd made Canelo miss and Canelo got tagged, but it was back and forth. Canelo landed a lot on Floyd too, and he was jabbing to the body a good amount. I mean Canelo was being patient and was feinting Floyd quite effectively particuarly early on. Never seen Floyd bite on so many feints like that. Canelo was just a little too patient, I thought, and content to box Mayweather, which made it hard to give him that many rounds.

I didn't say that only GGG fanboys scored the first bout for GGG, I said that I'm not a GGG fanboy and don't just give rounds to him for being aggressive.

Like for example he said GGG won the first round because "Canelo did nothing and GGG was the aggressor". If I'm not mistaken the consensus was that Canelo won the first round. A good amount of folks that had GGG winning gave Canelo the first round, so that's certainly debatable. The guy said it was a blatant robbery yet had the fight a narrow 7-5 with giving GGG the 6th in a round he called extremely close. That don't sound like a robbery to me, let alone a blatant one.

The claim that he was juiced up in the first bout is a baseless claim. He was being drug tested for that bout. I don't know how steroid testing works ? What's that supposed to mean. he was enrolled in VADA for both bouts.

The hate for Golovkin is like the democrats and Trump and the fake news Russian collusion. If the proper guy Golovkin got the decisions he deserved we would be wondering when Canelo was gonna get another shot,GGG would still be # 1 pfp.One can never win a close decision over Canelo.

Canelo was coming off an impressive win over Austin Trout when he fought Mayweather. He certainly didn't look green vs Trout now did he. The catchweight of 152 affected Canelo more than "being green", but as a 23 year old drained to the gills at a catchweight you might look a little green in comparison to Floyd. You can say Canelo was green though, after all he was wearing Green gloves and Green trunks wasn't he?

Many people had it a complete shutout, so that proves it's a shutout? Anyone who had it a complete shutout is very likely a Floyd Mayweather fanboy or was scoring the bout with their eyes closed.

Now granted Canelo didn't exactly dominate rounds, so it shouldn't be a big surprise that some had Floyd winning close rounds. But to call it a shutout, is a little much. Rounds 2-4 were good Canelo rounds, close but certainly rounds you could give to Canelo. Round 6 was a toss up, it's about as even a round as you'll ever see. Round 10 Canelo landed on Floyd a lot in the 2nd half of the round. Round 12 was very even and pretty much a toss up. So there were definitely several rounds you could give to Canelo. And Floyd made it clear in his post fight comments that he was impressed with Canelo and that Canelo is the future of boxing. Floyd wouldn't have given Canelo such praise if he had just completely whitewashed Canelo over 12 rounds.

You're not giving Canelo enough credit. There's a reason why Canelo wins close fights. It's because he knows how to win close rounds, he doesn't let you land clean on him, he slips punches and he counters you, he lands body shots he makes it hard for the judges to score rounds against him. Also I don't remember GGG being P4P #1. It's also ironic that you say he'd be P4P #1 now if he got those decisions meanwhile many of his fans have been claiming he's clearly past his prime at this point and been past his prime for years. He got beat up by Canelo, the kinds of shots Canelo landed on GGG don't land on a P4P #1 fighter. To be P4P #1 you need high level defense, GGG doesn't have that.

There was a round or so that I gave Canelo that could have also went to GGG which would have made it 116-112 instead of 115-113. When watching the fight live, I had it 8-4 116-112 in favor of GGG. So somewhere around 116-112 or 115-113 In favor of GGG is fine but the fight was not a draw and Canelo did not win that fight. In my opinion, that is robbery. The man that won that fight was not awarded the victory. What other word is there for denying the winner, the win?

And you're basing all of this on a disinterested 37 year old coming off of a 10-month layoff eating 3 clean punches. Damn my man, you're a genius. You should start advising people on bets.

The only round that you gave to Canelo and you said was close was round 11. And frankly round 11 wasn't that close. None of the other 4 rounds you gave you Canelo did you say were even close, so that argument doesn't fly. No, you gave the close rounds to GGG. Round 1 was a low output round, and despite GGG being the aggressor Canelo landed the better shots if I recall. (I will watch it again and get back to you)

In Round 4, Canelo did go back to the ropes, but you say he was just eating punches while there? That's something we're gonna have to take a look at. He was tagged with a good shot while on the ropes in the 5th, though Canelo shook it off, but GGG didn't land anything like that in the 4th. What was so impressive about the 4th was that he went back to the ropes, which was said to be a big no-no going into the bout and Canelo was just slipping punches and GGG was hesitant to throw anything with conviction. But look, I appreciate you attempting to justify your score, and I'm not criticizing you for having GGG winning by a narrow margin. You can make that argument, just don't tell me it was a blatant robbery when you had it 7-5 yourself with an "extremely close" round in there given to GGG.

This thread is not about the scorecards for Canelo vs. Golovkin, shut the f*** up about it.

Golovkin was # 1p4p by the ring magazine after the scandalous first Canelo fight. He was on the cover. After that there was the Clenbuteral Canelo scandal, then GGG Koed Martrosyan, Then there was the GGG vs Canelo 2 fight,if GGG got the decision he would have a official win over Canelo solidifying his p4p status. What a difference a little judging makes. To add insult to injury we have fools saying Canelo kicked Golovkins ass.Canelo fans like to take there robberies and run with it because that's what thieves do.

Hmm he was never the consensus #1 P4P fighter. Some had him #1, though, I see here ESPN had him P4P #1 after he beat Jacobs, which was scandalous in itself as many had Jacobs winning. (I didn't, I had GGG winning)

On the flip side of what you're saying, you could argue that in the collective minds of those that generate P4P lists, that GGG solidified his P4P #1 status by getting the judges decision vs Jacobs and by getting a draw vs Canelo in their first fight, despite GGG struggling in both fights.

However that's not how I view P4P rankings, to me it's about skills it's not about judges decisions but you're right that Ring and ESPN do seem to value that maybe even more than skills which is ridiculous to me. At the end of the day, the fact is that GGG was brutalized in the rematch, looking at how marked up his face was after the rematch, I highly doubt he would be P4P #1 after getting beat up like that, even if he got the decision, and sorry, but yes it was an ass kicking. (I did however admit that GGG rallied valiantly in the late rounds and deserves credit for that)

The bottom line is that you are calling the two fights robberies when they weren't. You cannot honestly deny how well Canelo performed in both bouts. I have no problem with you arguing GGG won either bout, but calling either fight a robbery is way over the top.

It Is a robbery when you take the victory from a fighter who earned it. It's just that simple.

But yet he was getting randomly tested 3 months before the rematch which resulted in the clenbuterol result. Still for the first fight he was fully enrolled in VADA, maybe not 365 days but he was tested sufficiently leading up to the first fight to ensure that he was clean that night.
