I must admit, the ending had a hint of a quit job about it.
Joshua dropped his gum shield out and retreated to a far corner. Didn't look keen at all.

You put your arms on the ropes when the ref asks you to walk forward you are telling the ref you don't want anymore. He had already given him plenty of time and was right to waive off the fight.

Isn't this the truth. People hate Joshua for how he presents this image of himself but at least the guy is consistent in what he says.

Could the same not be said for Tyson and his failure to rematch Klitschko. Popped for drugs and then quit outside of the ring rather than in it.

Before people quote mental health. That was after testing positive and pulling out f the fight.

Suffered from mental illness many years before the Klitschko fight.

The guy sent an Instagram DM to Eddie Chambers calling him a "disgrace to the superior black race" and then refused to address or take accountability for the comments, instead leaving it to Eddie Hearn and his management team to sweep it under the carpet and claim that Joshua's account was hacked. Where's the consistency there?

I don't think Fury has ever claimed to have been hacked. He says controversial things but has the balls to at least stand by them.

So? Who are you to judge him? He did that and he came back to school the most dangerous heavyweight on the planet. Fury has more heart, more resilience and more hunger than your entire family tree. It takes a strong man to come back from what he did and operate on the world level still, you're not even fit to wipe the sweat off his balls after sparring.

The ref was quite right to wave it off.
when he did step forward, he didn't raise his gloves, that's the point where the ref grabs both arms and rubs them up and down his chest, he does that to feel for resistance in the fighter.
Joshua didnt/couldn't raise his hands, the ref had to call it off.
I'm still not convinced a.j quit tho. If he had bad concussion, well that's another thing, you don't know what's going on half the time, it could be that a.j just couldn't process the information correctly.
Concussion is quite a strange place to be.

Tyson Fury explains why he has two different opinions on Joshua in this video. One is what he really thinks and the other is 'competitive talk' as he describes it. Watch it. (timestamped)

    No.
It's a different thing. Champions are human beings are entitled to have weaknesses outside the ring. like any other.
Once a fight is under way inside the ring, that's when we as boxing fans get to judge their fighting heart.

I’m trying to think of examples throughout the history of boxing when a fighter has come back stronger after quitting in the ring..
