I have to be honest here. Jake LaMotta was before my time. All I've ever seen of him were the films everyone else has seen. But I've never watched a LaMotta fight where I was impressed with what he was doing. He seemed to win simply on volume of punches thrown more than anything else. But he didn't seem particularly good at much else. I'd take Tiger by wide decision or TKO.
Tiger usually only had trouble against movers. There are not many that could beat the great African otherwise. It's likely LaMotta would end up looking like he did on Feb' 14th.
If Jake is in mid 40's form (not weight drained) I think he would win a decision over Tiger. LaMotta was smarter and more skilled than people give him credit for. Tiger was strong as well. It would be rough. I don't see LaMotta taking a backseat in this one. He fought and beat alot of good fighters.
LaMotta wasn't the same fighter he had been when he should have gotten a title shot. 1945-48. Tiger could very well beat him but Robinson knew Jake's situation. I don't see a stoppage.
