I'm shocked to find out that Ruiz beat Joshua. Why did Joshua lose? Was he not prepared, since Ruiz was a replacement for Miller, is Ruiz a bad style match-up for him, or is Joshua just not as good as advertised?

because he's not that good. ANybody with a semi-trained eye can see that he isn;t a fluid mover. Never bought the hype... I had him losing to MIller.

Not really a hype job when he beat Wlad, Parker and Whyte.

Ruiz was willing to take one big shot at a time to land combos on Joshua. Simple as that. Joshua kept loading up on that left hook, but whenever he landed it, Ruiz would come back with a left hook, right cross..over and over.

If Joshua is to win a rematch, he's going to have to keep Ruiz at range with the jab. Basically box like Wlad and Lennox. I'm not sure he has the gas tank for that.

He wasn't wearing his lucky boxer shorts on the night, this is the strongest theory at the moment.

He also had issues with his groin guard, that ties into the above theory. We're still piecing it together.

I’ll just give you a quick rundown of all the reasons I’ve heard.
    1. Because Joshua over looked him.
    2. Because Joshua was concussed in sparring seconds before the fight.
    3. Because Joshua had a panic attack.
    4. Because the ring was on the wrong continent for Joshua
    5. Because AJ tried too hard to finish him
    6. Because Ruiz landed a lucky punch
    7. Because even though Joshua is far superior, it was a bad style match up for him
    8. Because the referee stopped it too soon
    9. Because Joshua’s living accommodations in the US weren’t right.

    And my personal favorite...
    10. Because Andy Ruiz Jr was the better fighter that night and beat the **** out of Joshua.

Oh yeah, I have read a couple times that Joshua threw the fight so he could make huge money easily KOing him later this year. Pretty risky hitting Ruiz with that left hook in round 3. Almost blew the whole plan up!!

I should clarify that Joshua and Hearn themselves have done a classy job of shooting down all the excuses/conspiracy theories and giving Ruiz his credit.
