Mikey is a patient counterpuncher and uses minimal footwork. Spence couldn't do much. Lipinets and Broner touched Mikey up more than Spence did. Floyd stood toe-to-toe w/ Ortiz, Guerrero, Maidana, Berto, and Canelo (even walking him down), yet he fought the most cautious fight of his career against Pac initiating 20+ clinches, spoiling, and boxing off the backfoot. I can't even remember Floyd clinching Canelo, FFS. Rios promised to go to war w/ Pac, but then tried to box. Matthysse promised to go to war w/ Pac, but then tried to box. Vargas promised to go to war with Pac, but then tried to box. Clottey primised to go to war with Pac, but then shelled up for 12 rounds. Mosley promised to go to war with Pac, but then ran, but stood toe-to-toe w/ Canelo. Broner went to war with Marcos, Mikey, and Porter in the late rounds and rallied and walked all three guys down, but ran for survival against Pac. YDSKAB if you don't realize that guys very quickly change their gameplans when they taste Pac's blend of speed, angles, and power. The fact that Spence was afraid to power through Mikey by walking him down says to me he will run from Pac. Do you think that Pac would try to safely box from a distance against a lightweight coming up to 147 to fight him?
Spence fooled everyone me included when he showed a different dimension to his game by outboxing mikey instead of just using his size to bully mikey. Even then he still beat him up not losing a round and took no punishment in that fight. Broner and lipinets took punishment and lost to mikey. Spence would both outbox pac and beat him up much worse than he did mikey because pac is more aggressive than mikey and pac would press forward taking massive punishment until he slowed then he would get mauled and beat up to the body. Pac doesn't stand a chance against spence who's all wrong for him at this point. Spence isnt broner or Lucas he's prime elite and a beast
Lol, Are you guys serious? PAC has zero chance against Spence. Pac is a clown for even pretending he is capable of being Spence. F*cking clown man.
Please. You're going w/ Spence's excuse for not being able to take out Mikey, huh? Sure. I don't buy that because Spence calls himself the boogeyman of the division. His whole motto is Man Down and he repeatedly says that he doesn't get paid overtime and always looks for the KO. Spence could have swept Mikey for 6 rounds and then KO'd him which would be MORE impressive. Spence This content is protected KO him. It's that simple. Spence might not have that dog in him. That's why I pick Crawford to KO Spence if they fight. Crawford would have stopped Mikey. BADLY. If Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley went toe-to-toe w/ Canelo, but not Pac, you can be damn sure Spence ain't going toe-to-toe w/ Pac.
Mikey is an elite fighter and he's tough as **** and he's never been stopped. With that said some people thought spence took it easy on mikey that was brought up many times here after the fight. Also pac wouldn't stop mikey and would probably lose to him. My point is pac's style and agression would be his undoing against a guy like Spence who will make him pay. You seem to think that beating guys like a checked out broner and a shot lucas mean that pac will beat Spence who's prime and much better than tbose two.
If Pac fought any of the 3 top welters, his detractors would still say he ducked the other two. You can't win with these haters. Just enjoy the fight and may the best man win on fight night. This I know for sure.... we will never see in our life time another fighter who started at 112lbs, and at 40+ years old still fighting at the top levels in the welter weigh division. Thread/
Maybe. But then let's not act like thurman>spence. Thurman easily has the second best resume in WW. Spence has fought 2 good guys and even that is arguable. Brook came from a broken eye socket and algieri is a fringe contender at best. Even though i pick spence to beat pac these days i wouldn't count out pac.
Why would Spence take it easy on his opponent as oppossed to making a statement and getting rid of him if he was capable? I never understood that argument. I dont see Pac knocking Garcia out either but i can certainly see him winning a decision as Spence did.
Spence is ok. I don't see him as an elite skilled fighter. But hes pretty good. I would give pac a chance if he doesn't have a speed disadvantage.
Many people here said that after the fight do a search. I didnt think he did but alot of people here said he carried and took it easy on mikey.
For perspective....Pac won his first title when Keith was ten years old. He's literally been fighting for world titles since before a 30 year old man hit puberty. That longevity for anyone is remarkable, but it's obscene for a smaller fighter whose style leaned so much on his athleticism. Just look at Roy for a good example of what usually happens when freak athletes age in this game
