Teddy shows that Ruiz knew Joshua was going to quit, 4 seconds before the fight was waved off.

Teddy also explains that all the mouthpiece spitting and rope leaning , was Joshua getting his body ready to quit

Teddy uses the analogy of a pilot preparing himself to abandon a plane by throwing heavy bags out and getting his parachute ready, when he knows the plane is going down!

    Timestamped for video breakdown.

Damn. That guy's voice makes Fury's voice a year ago seem smooth as silk.

But really. What the **** is wrong with his voice.

He wasn't well and had just come out of the hospital, but he's fully recovered now, along with his voice.

And his ailment wasn't drug induced, so not comparable to Fury.

Well..... what's the matter quit or not quit? He lost the fight and his world championship belts.

The purpose is to finally lay to rest all misconceived illusions peddled by the misinformed who insist that Joshua wanted to continue simply because he said Yes to the ref's question and then there are some who believe the ref was too hesitant in stopping the fight.

Then there is the idea that Joshua was too confused to understand what the ref was commanding of him along with some more bs excuses that are trotted out, I'm sick of them.

Are there people who still think he didn't quit?

Yes There are many who wish to change the narrative.

AJ's legion's are still saying he didn't quit, he was concussed, didn't remember anything, not his fault, the ref was hasty and all kinds of bull****.

Ive seen far more BS threads spouting hate, bile and generally speaking, complete and utter bollocks with just a smattering of gloating about the Joshua/ Ruiz fight. I'm genuinely starting to think that some people on this site hope that Joshua ends up in a similar state to poor Zab Judah in the rematch, the hate is so deep and unrelenting.

Human nature, gotta love how it thrives on kicking people when they're down.

Delightful and well done! I've stated that the better man won the fight, no excuses and likely wins the rematch. Feel free to give it a rest and have a day off. You win yay.

Yep, no doubt he could have continued although him quitting saved himself from further knock downs and likely being knocked out entirely. I would think that Joshua himself realised that there was no way back from the 3 previous knock downs. I'm sure there's plenty of fighters who would have continued in his place. I'm also pretty sure that there's plenty who would have calculated that it was time to call it quits and fight another day.

Joshua has shown plenty of metal in previous fights and has continued after arguably being hit harder. I actually question whether Joshua has the necessary desire anymore, after all, he's earnt in the region of a 100 million at the age of 29 and has a burgeoning career as a boxer manager. It also looks to me as though he can't handle the kind of pressure that was on him for his MSG debut.

It wouldn't surprise me if Joshua quits in the rematch under similar circumstances. Unlike you however, I feel that would be a shame and would be to the detriment of Heavyweight boxing. Satisfied now?
