Go from a glass chin to granite
Move his head and upper body
Implement a Ring IQ
Become tough as nails and dont quit again
Do not choke again because he has to fight in the States again.
Turn shot confidence to Ali like mental toughness.

Reality:

Most Boxers do not take their first loss lightly and sometimes never come back from it......AJ lost, got humiliated and was beaten from pillar to post by a late sub who was picked to loose.......and flat out quit in the end.

AJ fought like he always did, a pawing jab and throwing hooks/right hands mid range or up close except this time he met a fighter who was fresh, came to win and fought fire with fire.

Ruiz from round one on put AJ on the back foot, walked him down with a high guard and capitalized on AJ's trading .......and trading is/was always AJ's trademark........he traded with old man with no gas or with cannon fodder with no fire in the belly.

I said for years that AJ is a KO waiting to happen because of his style , poor stamina and Ring IQ.

AJ cannot hold up under sustained pressure, he folds like a house of cards mentally and physically.

A immediate rematch will have the same outcome as the first IMO, except AJ might fold even sooner, he was ready to go in the 4th but Ruiz let him off the hook.

I have a feeling that all the bravado talk from Hearns is Hearns and not AJ.......I am not sure that the rematch will even go down or gets cancelled for "injuries" or " deal obstacles" etc etc.

 

To much weights not enough speed work.

It's a mistake to take this fight next, I actually believe it would be a mistake to fight Ruiz again.

Ruiz has a very solid chin, heart, courage, speed and power, I think Ruiz has more weapons than AJ does.

I'm not saying AJ doesn't have a chance, of course he does but what I saw can't be reversed in 4-5 months.

I suppose AJ could bore his way to victory, a Klitschko jab and grab style performance, other than that I don't see a tactic against Ruiz that works for AJ because I don't believe AJ has the tools right now, not so much physically but mentally.

 

Errr excuse me, I picked Ruiz, My bookmakers don't think I'm a troll, they had to pay me out at 16/1 and I'll be picking Ruiz in the rematch.
